DENTON – On Friday afternoon, North Texas director of athletics Rick Villarreal presented Mean Green fan Chance Slater with a pair of Apogee Stadium HUB Club tickets for the SMU game on Sept. 6. Slater, a North Texas fan since he was a student here in the 1990s, was the winner of the Mean Green Club’s National Student-Athlete Day raffle on April 24. He and his son, Cole, and wife, Robbie, will also attend the Texas game in Austin prior to the SMU tilt on Sept. 6. “I wanted my son to grow up with this atmosphere, coming to the stadium and watching college football,” Slater said. “We really like Apogee Stadium, and this will be our first time to experience the club level.
