  1. Actually, SMU tried a slow down game in our first meeting and we steamrolled them too. To be successful against Memphis, you HAVE to throw the offense out of sync. It works in slo-mo too...but not if people are bumping a lot and getting away with it.
  2. We ARE a piss-poor FT shooting team. However, our 3-pt. percentage is right around 35% for the season, and that includes a couple of sub-20% games.
  3. We press a lot...and we can go 10 deep to wear you out. Not to piss in your Cheerios, but we force a lot of mistakes with our press. Then we follow it up with a nasty half-court defense. We switch on just about every screen, because most of our players are about 6'-6", long, and quick (you could swap our PG and SF and never notice a difference). If you can get the ball inside early, we CAN get in foul trouble...further opening up the lane. We also play out of control at times and can fall asleep in the 2nd half. Plus, we can't hit free throws (we're worse than UNT). Keep an eye on the last 8 or so minutes of the 1st half...that's when we usually blow people out. If the game's close at half, it could get interesting. If UNT's the least bit worn out in those last 8 minutes (of the 1st half), it'll get UGLY quickly.
  4. That's going below the belt!
  5. I'll just start with this post...beef ain't 'que. Period. I've lived in Memphis and Texas (& a few other places), and haven't had any brisket that can top a good (not even great) rack of dry ribs (not to be confused with jerky). Dorsey is a beast inside, when he gets going. However, we're not the 3-jacking team y'all want us to be. We drive to the basket a lot and wear you out. Plus, the hidden strength of the team is it's defense. We force a lot of turnovers and block a lot of shots...oh yeah, we're strong on the offensive and defensive boards too. The best way to beat Memphis is to harass them enough to keep us out of our offensive sets and screw up our timing. Anyway...JJ is a good coach, but I think the talent of Memphis will be enough to overcome UNT. ...and the SMU game was an anomaly.
