I guess being a backup at Wisconsin is a popular move, or at least more appealing than playing at North Texas!

    Who knows if we offered?

Who knows if we did, that he even considered?

Who knows that if he did consider, maybe WISC's bag was bigger?

Just because we liked him, and I did, doesn't mean the staff did.   They have eons more insight into these kids than we do.     In Morris we Trust?    🙂

I'm just finding that hard to believe.  He was committed to us before the Jackson State offer.  But he was offered by Jackson State in September of last year when Prime Time was still the coach at Jackson State.  I believe that now, unless he gets an offer from Colorado, he will rethink his commitment.  Maybe Chris Gilbert can persuade him otherwise.

Are athletes allowed out of NLIs now?   i know it was talked about at one time, but hadn't heard that it went through.  if not, then he's committed to JSU until he finds his way to the portal.   Being signed and retweeting JSU stuff nearly daily, i'd say he's pretty locked in to JSU for the time being.

The NIL sucks!  If they are going to continue to do it there should be a individual limit for all.  Furthermore, it should be relatively small...say $10,000/$15,000 for each.  Those that make the most money can outbid almost any G5 (except maybe SMU).  Come on NCAA.  Let's control Pandora's box.

NIL just legalized what was already happening.   Putting a ceiling on it won't change anything.

  4. I don’t think it is fair to call it embarrassing.  TCU has us a magical ride and played at a high level all season. But this just shows the difference in elite programs and everyone else.   UGA has a stable of 5️ and TCU is doing with high 3s and 4s.   And what isn’t talked about, is Coaching.  These elite programs have top-level staffs.  Top to bottom.

there are probably 129 other teams that would trade places with them, even if they knew getting mud holed was in their future.

Good point. But do you really want "clipboard" players on your team? If they are after the "experience", then I guess it good for them, might actually be better to have players a little less talented, but who want to complete and play.

    💯

That or they just want to hold a clipboard and say they “played” P5.

This is definitely sometimes the case. Maybe not necessarily touting that they played P5, but definitely getting that P5 College experience.

My daughter played softball and I know 1/2 dozen kids that willingly sat at larger programs just because the experience was different/better.    I realize softball and football are nowhere near the same but I do think it shows kids can have that mindset.

Hearing alot of good things about this hire. Seems like he knows how to turn programs around and has pretty good Texas connections as well.

This is an off-field position responsible for being the conduit between groups within the athletic department.   There shouldn't be much help in regards to building a program.
