Buy from the school. The $10 difference goes towards things like covering the cost of bringing the band on the road.

Someone else getting something is not a dig on us.
USM is a consistently good G5 team. They have consistent attendance, make it to bowls 75% of the time, and travel well. In short they’ve built their brand.
Now it’s our time to do the same thing.

Great find. FAU not going where it wants really highlights the gap between P5 & G5.

Great article. It shows that we tried for the P5 match up, put don’t have the brand yet to pull off those types of bowls.
Lets buy our tickets from the school, turn up at the game, wear our green and build that brand.

Don’t do this. Leave at 2 a.m, 10 hr drive, 4 hr game, 10 hr drive.
And miss the party on Bourbon Street before and after the game, while not having diner at some of the best restaurants in the world.

Bowl preference list is due to the conference after the regular season, but before the championship game.
AD said our preferences were P5, out of state.

"So Long" The CP committee made their announcement around 11:10 a.m., by noon the school schedules a press conference for 2:30 p.m.
It will probably be another day or so before the school has official travel packages to offer.

UNT still has negative perception carried over from when NTSU dropped down to FCS (I-AA).
No it doesn’t. Most of the players parents weren’t even alive when UNT dropped down to the Southland.
An incoming freshman was five years old the last time UNT played in the New Orleans Bowl.

Best 4 teams got in.
Bama’s loss is better than Ohio State’s two losses.
Ohio State also sucked it up last year, when they were done a huge favor by the committee.
Plus we get Clemson Bama 3, the rubber match.

I was at the game yesterday, and I don’t know if you could see it or not. FAU was bigger at every position than UNT. Very noticeably bigger. O-line, Receivers, RB, DB. They were not faster, just bigger and better athletes. If you notice, we were able to run them down when they broke open. FAU was just a better team all around.
Accept at coach. I think SL could take Kiffin in a fight.
But I want no part of that Wilson strength training guy they brought in from Alabama, that guy was intense.

I read an article with the Mizzou AD and he explained the bowl selection process. He said the schools keep the conferences and bowls in the loop about their desires all season long. Then at the end of the regular season the schools turn in their official preferences ranked in order. The conferences and bowls then sit down and go through the list in order from top to bottom.
Glad to hear our order was P5 #1, New Orleans #2.

Part of the problem with Texas players is we don't have the biggest high school line players--because it's not as important in the popular spread offense here. Florida has more of these type of players, even for the lower level D1 programs there to recruit.
Look at the success of UCF, USF, FAU, and FIU these days. All have much bigger line players than we do. We have to figure out how to find the big boys somewhere in the state or elsewhere. A lot of the teams in Texas have had this problem lately. The skill players are definitely there.
That’s a really interesting take. TX and FL have always had the best recruits because they are the only two states that use the college rules vs. modified high school rules. It’s interesting to think in-state style is what is shaping recruits now.

I’m disappointed that we have to go when Bourbon Street is under construction, but other than that I’m excited to go see my team play in a bowl.
New Orleans is one of the best cities in America and best places to go for a bowl game.

We’ve had a great season and it’s not over yet. A bowl win and 10 wins would be incredible.
I’m so excited for the direction of the team and program.
Go Mean Green! Let’s go bowling.

Looks like the longest bowl drought in the NCAA has been broken.
CUSA & SBC should swap the New Mexico Bowl & Cactus Bowl spots.

New Mexico State is horrible and has always been horrible. Longest Bowl drought in the country.

I thought it was great hearing about our recruiting on NATIONAL TV when they said SL focuses on the 4 DFW counties.
I think MAC got sided track in Houston & Louisiana a few times and really hurt his recruiting classes.

What dominos need to fall for us to know the bowl pairing today? Is the college football really world really waiting on the outcome of the New Mexico State vs South Alabama to find out who's in what bowl?
-
I think we are going to see some of these "young turk" G5 Coaches stick around for a few seasons because they have their eyes on some really big programs.
ESPN had a graphic that listed Kiffin, Morris, Littrell, and one more as coaches to watch.

If the game was at Apogee would we have more fans in the stadium?
Yes. So we need to do everything we can to get home field advantage when we play again in 2018's championship game.

Anybody want to go to bowl game?

My wife is on the fence about going and apparently all my rowdy friends have settled down, so does anyone here want to go to the bowl game?
I’m planning to drive down Friday and drive back Sunday. I’m debating on going to the Saints game on Sunday, before headed back.
