  1. BINGO we have a winner! Two head coaches, three DC and nothing has changed in the past 4 years.
  2. I'm sitting here watching the Boys and surfing the net when I came across an article from Barron's. Story was about win's VS money in NCAA football. Story referenced the office of postsecondary education for data. That perked my interest (I pulled the data from the OPE) to compare UNT to SBC/OOC /other teams. Does money make a difference? TOTAL EXSPENSES PER TEAM SUNBELT FIU $5,905,876 MTSU $5,838,119 UNT $4,219,719 TROY $3,790,663 FAU $3,615,243 ASU $3,576,338 ULL $3,100,921 ULM $2,652,273 OOC KSU $10,209,079 TULSA $8,670,055 LSU $16,408,162 RICE $9,123,433 "Other" SMU $8,678,123
  3. My bad on Tulsa...Tulane South Florida BCS Conference enough said Boise Passed UNT back in 2000 but you are correct Troy "How to do it right small school big dreams" FAU/MTSU ...I'll get back to you on these...Need to B/S myself first...
  4. Step outside the box…Before blaming the coach… 1982-1994 UNT Division II football 1997 BCS realignment inclusion of Big10, Pac10, Big12, SEC, ACC, Big East 2004-2005 THE SBC Imploded six teams either left or entered the conference. 2000-2007 UT, OU, LSU, TCU, TX Tech have compiled Four National Championships and thirty-two top 25 finishes. The WAC, MWC and CUSA had teams who played in BCS games, won BCS games or were close. (Tulsa went 12-0 in 1999 and received no bid) The SBC still has only one guaranteed bowl tie in. The Big 12, MWC, CUSA and SBC have teams in Texas. The SEC is next door in LA/AR. So, is it the Coaching, School, Conference or Players the reason UNT can not compete? Or were the last couple of years the perfect storm for UNT? No identity for an unstable conference? Lack of exposure? Limited post season venues? Coaching staff? Inability to compete for recruits against other successful programs (BCS)? Apparent lack of support for athletics at UNT? But I see progress to address these issues: Upgrading the facilities at UNT with the athletic center, practice field and stadium … Hire a coach who has contacts and a support network that allows recruiting against above mentioned schools and road blocks. The scheduling of OOC teams that increase the visibility and prestige of program. (Navy and instate rivals, i.e. SMU/Rice) But failure to acknowledge the limitations at UNT is foolish. Blaming Dodge for 25 years of mismanagement of this program is wrong. Give Dodge his four years. If no improvement in the overall program after 3 years demand wins-after 4 demand a change.
  5. Screaming Eagles...Screaming Whiners. Our team should compete with BCS teams... If UNT wins a OOC game in the next two seasons it will be an upset. Wake up and smell the roses folks this program has been at the bottom for a long time. Winning the SBC in the past was bragging my date wasn't the ugliest at the dance. The facilities, conference and athletes are considered the bottom of the barrel. The only positive that has happened around this program for years was the hiring of Dodge. So stop your whinning. This program is ugly the only hope is Dodge. If he brings this program up and has 7-5 season plus a cheese bowl win he'll be gone. Why would he remain at UNT? Oh yeah because all the support the fan base has given? ROFL...
  6. Mac Brown offered RD a scholarship for one reason. He didn't recruit Chase Dainels. CD has put Mizzou in the national spot light. He has done more for Mizzou in one season than Brad Smith did in three. MB has heard it from the Alum and read it in the press. Colt is a good player but he is not the player CD is. He wasn't going to let another 5A player of the year play for another Big12 team. Which is sad for RD, because he is a heck of a player. I don't think he ever had a chance at UT. If you guys don't want him go read Mizzou's tigerboard. They'll take RD. They love CD and to get another Spread QB, 5A Teaxas player player of the year and a coaches kid...Well they'd just wet themselves....
