Old Iron Post in Sherman says they will be showing the game. Guess I'm taking the wife out tomorrow night.

As we pulled into the blue lot there were Denton PD officers looking in cars. An officer took a drivers license from someone in the truck in front of us and kept it. She looked to have about a dozen in her hand already. She waved us through. Last week there was talk about a crackdown on student drinking. Was there an incident that prompted this?

Has anyone else watched any of the Mean Green Gameday pregame show that is being put on by some RTVF students?

I know it would difficult to watch it live, as it is on in the hour before kickoff, but it looks like they are doing a great job.

Is there anyone on here who can get the Alumni Pavillion to consider showing it?

 

 

[Scheduling Question]

Why don't schools in the same conference work together on out of conference scheduling? Are there rules against it or is it just not the way it is done?

For example, let's say C-USA and the SEC work out a deal where UNT goes to LSU, and in return LSU plays a game at LA Tech. A&M comes to Denton, for a game, and gets a home game against LA Tech. 

Has anything like this ever been attempted?

UT coach Butch Jones says Canales is “a great friend of mine.”

“I’ve known Mike for a very, very long period of time,” Jones said during his Monday press conference. “I’ve admired him as a play caller, as a quarterback coach, as an offensive coordinator, and he’s done a great job in a difficult situation, and you can see their offense now starting to take on his personality.”

The article went on to imply that Jones would not embarrass Chico.

All this talk about their mascot not being able to fly has me confused. I thought their mascot was this Plymouth.

College of Education is one of the best anywhere and IS the best in Texas. That is why my wife and I both went there. We are also both football fans and attend every game. Today during the drive home she commented that if either of us had the performance record of RV or Mac, we would be fired.

Half the teachers I have worked with are NT grads, but my wife and I are the only ones I know that have any MG gear in our classrooms. The one A&M grad at my current campus has all but painted her room maroon and the UT grad wears burnt orange three days a week.This year a fellow teacher and NT grad saw the battle flag decal on my desk and asked if was a UNT flag. She thought it looked familiar.

Even if all 2,300 signers are UNT students that means about 34,000 students have not signed the petition. So how is "North Texas Students Say 'No' to Greg Abbot Commencement" the best title for the article?

[Has UNT held you back personally?]

Quite the opposite. I am a teacher. The principal I work under is a UNT grad. More than half the teachers I have ever worked with are UNT grads, including one at the first school I taught at in Silver Springs,Florida, where I was specifically recruited to because of the fabulous reputation of UNT's College of Education.

I didn't attend UNT so I could become a Mean Green fan and supporter, I am a Mean Green fan because they represent my wonderful alma mater.

On the car ride home the radio said something between 22,000 and 22,500. if everyone in the concourse would/could have gone to their seats at once the crowd might have looked a little more impressive.

Hey... I believe it's as close to the top 25 as we have ever been. And we DID get some top 25 votes! I know everyone here believes in the Mean Green!!

Closest in a long time, but not ever. In 1977 we finished #16 in the Coaches Poll and had the votes for #25 in the AP poll, which only went to 20 back then.

The good news we are on our way back!

[UNT Attention]

I was in Ruidoso, NM on Bowl Day (planned by wife well before bowl invites) and wore my Mean Green hoodie on the slopes that night. Received comments from four different groups of people about the game.

Several years ago (probably 20) I was in Illinois for a friends wedding and wore a UNT hoodie on the flight and was asked what it stood for. We have come a long way.
