  1. I think you drove by The UTSA Downtown campus if you were by the Mercado. That is a satelitte campus that does look very much like a CC. The main campus is on the far northwest side of town and looks more like a shopping mall than a college campus.
  2. I wish i had never seen this That is hilarious! I get the reference now and I am inclined to insult my own program as well. As a proud UTSA alum living in UNT territory, I would like to offer my apologies for some of our overzealous fans. Some of us must have a little too much liquid courage or are just plain delusional. We know that we are a fledgling program and our meteoric rise is the result of hard work and a bit of good fortune. I think we have the potential to be a respectable program, but there is still a long way to go in this journey. I respect the Mean Green and am glad to have them as an conference member. I hope we win on the 23rd but if not I wish UNT the best and hope they win the title.
  3. Ok. So what is the deal with the UTSA KFC stuff... Are Eagles not of the avian class anymore?
  4. I mean... I think I am all grown up. I don't know. Let me ask my daddy... He said yes, I am grown up. Should I apologize that my school is young? Should I be mad that your school is older? Should we cry about it together? Sorry, I didn't really understand your trash talk. As for the UT jab, what should we do... close up shop because we are under the UT Sytsem? Since we have had our colors for some time, I see no reason to change them. Also, I may not be an artist, but I am pretty sure that our shade of orange would not be considered burnt. Again, not an expert, but I am not color deficient and I see just plain orange. But kudos on the smack talk... I do have a gripe though. Are we not grown ups (see what I did there) or what? Do you guys really outlaw cursing on this site? I am not one to fling F-Bombs here and there, but occasionally a strong Nasty word gets your message across? Just curious...
  5. Well ESPN only goes back to 2003. Also, to compare the last 100 years is irrelevant. UTSA has only been in existence since 1969. It was meant to shed light on the fact that while UTSA only has 1 win of that nature. UNT has only 3 or 4 in that same time frame... and longer. I was meant as a dig to the original poster and his or her oversight to UNTs own mediocrity.
  6. Someone on a previous post made this graphic. Of course... the moderator locked it before I got to read it and respond. While it was funny, I did some research, and found that your beloved Mean Green football has only won a total of 4* games against FBS opponents with winning records since 2003. 2013 - Ball State and Rice 2012 - UL-Lafayette 2007 - W. Kentucky* * W. Kentucky was a transitional FBS school Source - ESPN So again, while funny, the graph above would have been better for me, had there been a comparison between the two programs. Next weeks game will either close or widen the gap. I am hoping UTSA wins but I believe UNT is tough this year and wouldn't take that bet. Just wanted to give you guys a little perspective.
  7. I feel that I am pretty open when it comes to all things food, of course, having lived in South Texas, tacos are king and Tex-Mex reigns supreme. The hotter the better is my M.O.. So... that is where my judgement stems from. I will admit that my sample size is not that big. I have used Yelp to assist with my search but the reviews differ vastly from my palate. So either, I have been going to some awful places or I need to adjust my taste buds to survive. I need to find more hole in the wall joints. Also, I live in N. Richland Hills, (which feels like Chain Restaurant Heaven) so that could be why. Recent meals: El Rancho Grande: A coworker hyped this and it was very disappointing. Beans were bland and fajitas were overly seasoned. Taco Bueno: Reminds me of Taco Bell but worse El Chico: Glad I got queso for free but just not what I am looking for. Good prices for lunch though. Rosa's Cafe & Tortilla Factory: Wow, this was horrendous. Flat out waste of money. I would rather go to Taco Cabana. Mi Cocina: Not bad but too expensive and trendy. El Fenix: One poster said this was good. Not in my opinion. Beans came from a can and salsa was weak. Don't mean to hijack the thread but I am seriously interested in finding some good Mexican food.
  8. I graduated from UTSA and I have never felt the need to make a post before, but I recently moved up to the Metroplex and I have yet to find any decent Mexican food around here. Please point me in the right direction because I have never had food like this before. My fiance is from Nashville and she has not been thrilled with either. I would appreciate any pointers. With that said, I think it should be a competitive game. While I hope my team wins, I believe that the UNT defense is good enough to force Soza into a few turnovers that will make the difference. I hope I am wrong though! May the best team win!
