Or lose if he defense can't hold them to under 60 or so...see referenced Navy game. Seems to me it takes both the offense and defense playing well to win. Let's hope that by the time we all see those throwback uniforms that BOTH the offense and defense are playing well.
I agree. I'm just saying that I have faith in the defense. They'll get the job done. Offense is what is making me nervous.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm not arguing the importance of offense vs defense. I'm just saying the defense seems to be on the right track. Our offense is worrisome.

Way way too early. Don't tell me you base anything on first scrimmage of fall practice coach speak? We all hope for improved offensive production...but we're you at the last Navy game? One can score close to 60 points and LOSE if you don't have a defense that can stop the other team as well as an offense that can score.
So...the coach speak positive is tat the defense is looking better. Where are all the positive comments about the defensive tackles that were said to be a weak point? Defense won the s rummage it was said, so DT's must have one a good job.
Agree that it's way too early and that's why I still have hope. I'm basing my comment off of Coach Mac's previous two years though. I understand the importance of a good defense as well and I'm excited to see the improvement in our defense. However, even if our defense holds every single opponent to 14 points, we'll still lose if we only score 7 (see last year's Troy game).

I don't know how much longer I can tolerate us having such a terrible offense....sure hope it improves.

I LOVE music, but I'll never be anything more than a hobbyist. I appreciate DT's commitment and he seems like a really good guy, but I'm just skeptical he'll improve enough this year. It's not for lack of trying though. He's to be commended for effort.

First, it is hard to believe we are so close to the Idaho game and, were I not a rabid fan, I wouldn't know it. No schedule posters up on the square that I saw, on Fry Street etc. No hoopla.
I went into Voertman's and it is slowly becoming a ghost town (more on that later). I bought a really good looking NT shirt for $10 and a NT baby beanie for my friends who just had a little girl...she's an OU grad and they're Sooners, but they say she'll wear her NT stuff for uncle Emmitt! A lot of stuff on clearance and no Texas Tech trailer hitches.
I went over to Apogee to buy my Tulane ticket. It was $35! Geez, you'd think that Tulane would give you a coupon for a free hurricane too for that price. NT vs. tulane isn't exactly a marque matchup. Also, I talked to the spirit shop people about what was going on with the bookstore. Apparently the bookstore will be in an industrial grade "tent" like structure for a year or two while they build the union. Also, the bookstore bought out Voertman's but will keep the Voertman's name. That's good and bad. Good because the Voertman's store will stay there...and bad because, should the bookstore decide to price gouge for apparel, there is no alternative business to buy from.
There's actually this place right off the square called Barefoot that sells a ton of North Texas gear. They have a better selection than Voertman's or the campus bookstore in my opinion. It's become my go-to place in Denton for North Texas apparel.

I know it's been stated here a few times, but for those having problems or who aren't impressed with it, please remember that the fully customized new site won't be available until fall (likely October). This is a temporary site that was thrown together. We'll see much improvement come fall and then we can give a fair evaluation. That being said....this already looks better than the old site.

What is this guy smoking? Derek Thompson was a winner? If anything, he was shown up by McNulty. Also, Berglund seemed to have much more potential than Thompson ever had. Thompson wasn't completely awful, but he looked about like he does every year. That being said, I do respect Thompson's leadership ability.

We aren't getting rid of Benford, unless you donate the buyout. There's no way this university is going to buy out four years of a contract for a basketball coach when they wouldn't/couldn't buy out an extra year of the worthless Todd Dodge experiment that would have cost > $300k to get rid of him in 2009 instead of 2010.
We ARE getting rid of Benford.

Hmm...maybe C-USA can help raise ours? If not much with TV contract money, we should at least have increased revenue due to increased attendance (hopefully).
