  1. This was as expected per RV's comments, but it really is great for the program and fans.

As far as the pick a seat day, they will be doing a virtual pick a seat day in the spring. The AD is working with a company to provide a virtual view of sight lines, etc. I don't believe the seats will be installed and the stadium available for walk around tours until after the seats have been sold. Cooper Jones discussed this with us earlier this season on a podcast.

    Good stuff......

    Gmg...

  2. I was in the back standing against the wall eating, since there weren't any seats available. To be honest I couldn't even hear what he was saying. The portable PA system wasn't great. Everyone was pretty quiet during his interview with Dale and during his introduction. At first I didn't think he was going to say much as they were really pushing that they were going to keep it short so everyone could get out to the basketball game, but he seemed to keep going. I couldn't hear much of it at all. Actually I had no idea there were any uncomfortable moments or issues until I read this post.

The crowd was a who's who of big donors. I hadn't seen that many together in a while and there were a lot of good ole boy conversations going on. There was also a lot of alcohol being consumed which tends to raise the "emotion" level.

On another note, while I was in the restroom, I heard a few guys discussing club level seats and they were pretty excited about the different packages. Sounds like they had just became interested in them and newly back to the program.

  3. I think it is too early to decide. It amazes me that so many people are getting so worked up so early. The process is far from being finished, and there are lots of complexities to the search.

I like the enthusiasm I've seen from Coach Canales, and I know he has a background of working in a program that was built up from nothing to being nationally ranked. The next two games will tell me more about what he can do with the reins.

We have a unique opportunity to be able test drive a Head Coach candidate. I would bet that a lot of the other "candidates" would not be so happy to have to try out like he is doing.

Having said that, I think it's too early to get too wired and in love with any particular candidate, especially if the candidate you are backing has no interest and not even on the short list.

One other thing.....We've noticed People registered under several different screen names and it has become a huge problem.......on both sides of the issue............

We all want what's best for the team and North Texas...... For those of you campaigning heavily for one over the other, you might be hurting your cause more than helping it......

Remember the windmills..........90% of the people didn't care one way or the other....after a huge push by a few posters to change the minds of the 10% detractors, they managed to turn the 10% into 40%.......

sometimes the less you say the better off you are........

    gmg........

somewhere DD is finding all of this amusing.....

  4. In this episode we briefly rehash the Ark St. game, then have a long Stadium discussion with Senior Associate Athletic Director Cooper Jones...good stuff....Thanks to Cooper for joining us.......fixed the mic distorion issue about 7 minutes...

Sorry, but we had an issue with the MP3, but you can listen in on the ustream feed. We should have the MP3 up by Thursday.

  5. If you're coming from Dallas and want to avoid I35 altogether I would suggest taking the DNT up to Frisco. Head west on El Dorado through Little Elm and eventually you end up on the Lewisville Lake toll bridge, and that turns into Swisher Rd in Lake Dallas. Mileage wise it's a longer drive but it's a less stressful and sometimes faster drive.

This sounds good on paper, but I'd go tollway to 380.....el dorado is a mess and it takes foooooorrrrrever to get over to the bridge through west frisco and little elm.....I live in frisco and I usually take 121 to lewisville then up on 35.........Tollway to 380 wil be the best way if you want to avoid 35

  6. Plus, we probably have the worst online athletic apparel store in D1 athletics. Meangreengear.com is pathetic...

Don't get me started on this one......I mentioned my frustration on the podcast........ Meangreengear.com is advertised everywhere...banners...official website....at the tailgating area......but the site itself is really basic, error filled, and is really quite embarrassing.

Try clicking the picture of the golf bag on the front page of the gear section.......Evidently they don't have them, but that picture has been up for months.

I tried to buy my wife a green short sleeve North Texas shirt to wear to games. There are 2.........just 2........but if she wants a red/pink/raspberry colored item, there are 10. Can't even figure why there are so many red options to begin with.

Quite a few of the images won't even load. It has been this way a while. I'm actually amazed that the bad pictures haven't been fixed.

I emailed their customer service, so I'll report back on what they had to say.......Oh and if you decide to email them, the link doesn't work, you have to erase part of bad email address....

  7. I don't even see the UNT plate on there..

Maybe they think the SLC plates can double for North Texas..

These aren't the regular college plates from the TXDMV. These are from the outsourced company that was hired to provide even more options and more money. My wife has the regular college UT plates. She now has the option to get these Longhorn plates if she wants. The cost more than the regular college plates. I think they look pretty cool. I might trade in my regular UNT plates if myplates.com came out with a new NT design.

  8. from their board

Dunbar could play on anyone's team. We have excellent defenders and he was moving thru them easily most times. The guy is simply that good.

And their QB and WR's are EXPERIENCED, and were very good last season. They might be even better this year.

Anyone that doesn't think NT will win a bunch of games this season is not looking. We beat a very solid, well-coached team that was firing on all cylinders. We just outplayed them
