I'll miss CJ.
Those of you saying it's a "lateral move" have never been to a game in the Pit, or have any knowledge of the overall CBB landscape, with MWC basketball being a very respected conference. They have a rabid fanbase, and I'm willing to bet the bump in NIL is noticeable. The Pit is an incredible facility that I hope NT's new arena will be modeled after. I got to take in the NT victory over UNM back in McCasland's 2nd year. One of my favorite memories of NT Sports.
We get you are a closet New Mexico fan but noone l know cares that much about them. Sure they have more fans at games but there is frankly nothing else to do there. We have fielded a much more competitive program than they have recently.

I think Ruben should still be eligible for it since he played here for four years and got his degree.

Damn, losing Aaron and Rubin even bumped the basketball subforum down below football again...
I noticed that as well!

I have been perusing the sites out there and it seems like we are not the only ones going through this. I don't blame the players for wanting to see what the market has to bear but sometimes the grass is not always greener.

How long until this gets brought up? You only have a handful of women college athletes that are making big NIL money. Clark and Reese in basketball and Dunne at LSU in gymnastics. This isn't going away and I'm sure lawyers are chomping at the bit to take the NCAA to court.
Agree 100%. I am frankly surprised that this issue has not yet come up in the courtrooms. The NCAA is such an absolute joke.

Northwestern making this a very North Texas-style game... FAU up 20-19 at half!
Based on this i fully expect FAU to pat them on the head with about 4 minutes remaining and win comfortably
I feel the same.

I predict that Seton Hall will win. Who you got?
Please note that neither Kansas State nor any former player is relevant to this topic.
Seton Hall is favored by 4.5

You morons don't understand, we may not have gotten into the NIT this season had it not been for Mr. P's help winning it for us last year. The kid had to take care of his family and I am sure had he been able to match it here he would have stayed. In terms of did he get all the money promised to him, I am sure he will share the truth on that as did Drez and JR etc.
Why don't you guys focus on the positives? We just beat LSU in the NIT tourney on the road for goodness sakes.

I feel like we should have won the last game against LSU. This gives me hope for this game especially if we are 100% healthy.

Potentially, this team could, could have the following coming back.
Jones, Noland, Edwards, Buggs, Walker, Scott, Sissoko, Cotton, Taylor and the kid from Plano (name escapes me). Pick up three bigs out of the portal/Juco and let’s roll.
I also don’t think this year is over for with of our basketball teams.
They changed the rules so I don’t know if we would get an NIT bid anymore or honestly if we are as deserving as in past.

Injuries were tough. I had hoped we would be better but the chemistry was not the same since we lost Tyler.

Ross has a long way to go to match what McCasland is. He has potential but still has a long way to go.

Wren better be worrying about his own job there.

I hope I'm wrong, but Morris was an uninspired hire for UNT. Face it. We were pathetic last year.
Agree 100%. I was hoping we would make more of a splash hire like Justin Fuente. Instead we got a guy Texas State pas on. So I guess you get what you pay for.

Agreed, especially getting the bball games here.
On the other hand, not many SBC teams we can beat with this program. 😢Could not even beat bad CUSA teams last season. You are correct. Our football program is not in good shape right now.

I will wait until official practices to start. Then again, those haven’t really proven anything in the past, have they.
Yes scripted typically and mean nothing in my book. Fall is what counts.

Wow... Looks like my predictions will be correct to even the exact record. I predicted them to finish 4 games above .500 and that is likely to occur.
Are you really a fan? Cause your posts don't really sound like it. Why are you even here?

Will we see changes coming from inside UNT?

So do the new Virginia laws mean that all the NIL will be run thru the AD? Seems to makes sense and I think it will be adopted nationally. It doesn’t help having multiple entities calling on the same small group of alumni and fans for donations. Centralization makes sense here if you ask me.
