  1. While reading over the article regarding Tate Forcier leaving Michigan, I thought what about UNT as an option? For heaven sakes, he is considering Montana which is a perennial 1-AA powerhouse, but Montana? I know it is just a pipe dream, but a QB with a 130 passer rating in a passing oriented offense with a solid running game could really catch some attention in one of the top five media markets in the US...
  2. I think you have look to the video of the players UNT recruited, I agree with other replies that UNT found some real play-makers. One of the biggest indicators of success in this year's recruiting class are the commitments switched from more prominent fbs schools to UNT (A Coup in itself) and the number of commitments from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Somehow, without any recent success or hiring of a big-name coach (Leach for example), UNT is relevant in the greater DFW area and Texas. I believe that this year's success will form a strong base for recruiting future Texas players, a la TCU.
  3. While checking up on North Texas Recruiting on ESPN and using my insider account to find anything going on with the football program (Nothing worth mentioning nationally) I was curious to see what local recruiting was going on. Even the lower 3 Star athletes from the area have more interest for smaller, out of state Div 1 schools than they do for UNT (Don't blame them... blame marketing). My next step was to look at those that are not currently recruited. One QB caught my eye, Paul Millard from FMHS in Flower Mound, TX who ran a very similar offense to what Canales runs at UNT. I know because I played varsity football as a slot receiver under head coach Cody Vanderford at FMHS. This was last night that I checked... Was about to add the link to this post when I learned he just gave a verbal commitment to West Virginia, other schools considered... Stephen F. Austin. Are you kidding me, he's right in our backyard?!? Here is the link anyways...My link
