  1. Was told there is new TABC guy in charge for the Denton area and is not making it easy. In the club level, they stop serving booze at the end of the 3rd quarter. Bet they do the same downstairs, but I was not told anything about that, so just a guess on my part.

They stop selling at the end of the 3rd at every NFL game or college so that's normal.

TABC is never relaxed but with Denton being half wet it will make it complicated.

Rick v. And Eric Capper have been in favor of acquiring a TABC license for UNT athletics and I will be very surprised if we don't have it before the 2013 season.

  2. If that conference offered us an invite, I'd be very upset if we didn't take it. Do you think the alumni and other fans of these schools will take kindly to them running away from a conference with UConn, Cincy, and Houston to be in a conference with UTSA and FIU?

Uconn and Cincy are like the "mista mista" lady from Happy Gilmore.

They want to get out of the BE ASAP.

Houston and SMU have dug their own grave and could be going to Moutain West.

We could end up in a Sun Belt Big East where we are left on an island again with no Texas ties.

I would treat a Big East invite like a pedophile clown and run away screaming like Thad from the show Blue mountain state

  3. No way Tulsa goes now.

I even see Tulane trying to reverse course.

This is what happens when schools chase the $$$ and forget about a map.

The money isn't there and you leave the kids flying across the country every week and lose money on all the travel costs.

Add to the fact you lost any chance of visiting teams actually visiting your city.

All the schools in the BE finally realized the ship they just boarded is the Titanic.

The only thing to watch now is who jumps ship first.

  4. Frats live on campus and treat the dorms just the same. The RA's act like they are pastors at a church trying to save the kids from any temptation.

When they look at the revenue it will bring in for all the sports and the concerts they can book( which they don't book any because no band will play at a dry event) there is no way they can turn down the money.

Minnesota was the last university to get a liquor license I remember getting theirs.

They brought in 6 figures in revenue.

Get the booze so we can buy out Benford

  5. i saved the picture but wont allow me to upload.

shows a girl talking about updates.

Says the person died falling from a railing.

doesnt know time frame of ban

Then says reports are mixed, person might not be dead.

She then corrects her original post saying: Correction the student is alive

This girl works for NBC5 and posted all of this without fact checking LOL

  6. I dont see this effecting us at North Texas with the emphasis all the HC in Football and Basketball have.

Now for some of these big time programs in the SEC, BIG 10/12, Pac 12 it will really effect.

They take in some players that focus a little(LOT) more on athletics than on academics.

Academic fraud will come into play as well as a result.

  7. Rick V brought it up at the press conference today.

The videos are up on MGS

Confirms we are dangerously close to an announcement. Just tying up some loose ends

AD will do renovations to the softball stadium at the same time of baseball construction. So take what you can from that, my guess is a brick facade with additional amenities.

Indoor and outdoor golf practice facility noted in the works.

Basketball practice facility is about a month away from being completed.

Touched on tennis but just said how great of a facility it is so doesn't seem like tennis is high on priority list for now.

Also, worth mentioning is track wasn't brought up.
