  1. I must say from the looks of the game on TV and what my weather app was telling me it looked incredibly hot. It said 90 at halftime

You could tell from BSU how hot it was. A lot of their players looked gassed in the 2nd qtr, requesting to come out, cramps, injuries. I saw one particular coach for them that was bright red from sunburn

It has to be an advantage to have the other team sit in the sun while our team is in the shade in a game like that. This also hurts the student attendance as well unfortunately

Can't say enough about the shape our players are in, Coach Wintrich & his strength staff should be congratulated.

It was a Hot summer and August Cam, the players worked hard in it everyday, it showed yesterday.

  2. I have direct TV, even with the "Watch Espn" App, or espn3.com I can't watch it. DirectTV subscribers are not given access to sign in.

Luckily I have a Xbox 360 so I can watch it through that.

If you have DirectTV, but not Xbox 360 I would recommend checking out a website that can stream it for you.

  3. @UNT90. Couldnt agree more. We need to play aggressive and threaten the pass and/or play.

Throw the ball, when you do that it will open up our running game even more. We all know we have a very solid running game, with the threat of the pass it gets that much better.

  4. DT had a great opening game, really good for him to start with this type of game for his confidence.

    349 yds, 23/27 (85% completion) 2 TD's, 0 INT.

He took a lot of heat these last few months, and some here on this board would have never expected it from him.

Best thing to ever happen to DT was the arrival of BB & DW, he demanded he perform well.

Offense ran 79 plays, with multiple sets. 5 wide, Wishbone, I form, pro set. Between the 4 RB's that played, multiple receptions from many WR's.

Defense played extremely well, aside from 2 big plays we held strong. They were flying around poppin people and causing TO's, good pressure on the QB. Great speed off the ends, our LB crew has to be will be one of the top in the conference. I really liked how the defense bent at times but never broke, after the first TD and after the onside kick it could have been very easily to do so.

Need some help at in the kicking game, 2 blocked XP is not good. Also having to go for it on 4th down vs. taking the 3 points can hurt us eventually.

All in all great win, need to win this week on the road. Playing for 3-0 at Apogee in 2 weeks would be really nice.

  5. Greetings and good morning from California. Cant wait for kick off and to beat the Vandals.

I am ready to see the MeanGreen Win at home on the season opener, start the season with confidence.

Calling it now, DT has an amazing year, plays with a chip on his shoulders all season long. No better way to silence the haters than to get the job done.

First play: Playaction Touchdown Pass (Just for you KingDL)

  6. I must say I am excited for this upcoming season, and really hope and wish for the best. No matter who lines up on either side of the ball I am faithful the coaches who live UNT football 52 weeks of the year have chosen them to be there for a reason.

I come on these boards because I am excited for the season, I enjoy reading posts. I look for others that are as excited as I am and are going to watch every single play this season. Perhaps share ideas, or opinions, memories and talk MeanGreenFootball.

I must say it is somewhat discouraging to read the negativity and criticism of the players before the season has even started. It can be hard to look at these boards at times because of it. But my following of UNT football always brings me back.

We are all here because we share one thing, we are invested in Mean Green Football and want it to be successful. Does not matter who you are, or how you're connected to the program. What matters is we all want a winning season and to celebrate it at a bowl game with these deserving players. Winning: the rest is just details!

I choose to be positive and hope for the best and trust those that live UNT Football daily to have prepared these young men to WIN!

  7. What matters is we have the best QB out there leading the offense. From the sounds of the articles I have read it seems as though the spring was a time for people to step up and earn a spot and beat out the starters if you weren't one. Hard to hand the reigns over to a QB that hasn't played football in a couple years vs. a 2 year Starter senior if he can't play or practice due to injury.

I am thankful to have DT, and hope his senior year is his best of his career.

  8. Canales wasnt forced on Mac, they are good family friends. They have been real close since they were both at USF. Canales isnt going anywhere, by his decision and definitely not being let go. Coordinators being let go after signing day? Waiting to let him go in Feb, after your last game was in November? That makes a lot of sense.
