  1. I have some major complaints about my experience visiting my local 7-11 and the customer service I experienced there. Going to start a message board about it. It is unacceptable the way that company is going, someone needs to hear about it.

I know I am not a architect, Doctor, weatherman, lawyer, nor do I think I could ever do those jobs. But everyone seems to think they are and could be a great football coach.

  2. Here's an idea. Let the coaches who spend all day everyday watching film, evaluating practice, seeing effort in the weight room and offseason workouts, etc. choose who should be the starting QB should be. Nobody wants to win more than the coaches and players. The QB that will give us the best possibility to win every game will play I assure you.

  3. I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so.

Not a good situation to step into, having to keep 4-5 assistants from previous staff is not a good place to start. KingDL will tell you all about "having to" to keep assistants from the previous staff is not good ;) No money there to buy out contracts, or put into the facilities.

Canales will be a HC someday, but not this year. Exactly what I said 2 weeks ago. I am excited for another MeanGreen season, and to be bowling again next fall. CUSA Champs!

  4. KP is a great hire, he is an incredible motivator. He is a true players coach. Yes he did coach JPP, but surprisingly most of you are leaving out one of your local boys. The Cowboys George Selvie. Talk about impressive, go back and look at Selvie's college stats. Canales, Simmonds, Wintrich, Patrick and Mac. UNT quickly turning into what the coaches call it USF West

  5. KP!! So excited he is joining the staff. He played at Miami, has a national championship ring. Played with Sapp, and the Rock. He is an amazing recruiter, incredible coach. He and Canales go way back. Patrick was on the original staff at USF, he left and came back to USF just like Canales.

    This is amazing hire!

  6. Canales isn't going anywhere anytime soon. After 4 years of hard work and UNT is finally back on the College Football scene, he would be a fool to leave now. Next year will be just as good or better than this year.

My opinion: Dajon Williams will be an incredible QB, and the Canales playbook will now be able to open some chapters that haven't been opened since Groethe and BJ Daniels at USF.

  7. As for Chico...tough call if they offer him the job. It is dead end. But, even in a record-setting season, the fans here could think of nothing to do but bitch about him and second guess him at every turn. In a record setting year, calling plays for guys who led and climbed the career record charts in passing, rushing, receiving, total offense, and all-purpose yards in Thompson, Byrd, and Chancellor, the fans here were about 113% unappreciative of him.

Preach on my man. Don't forget that Lance Dunbar's records were under the 2 years he played under Canales. I agree Lance is a special player, but you can't argue that he played 1/2 of his career under Canales calling the plays.

No matter what KingDL says, I will brag about the work Canales has done at UNT. So what if I am part of his family, that means I know more than most what he has given and sacrificed for the success and turn around of the UNT football program.

Canales will get his chance as a HC, but it won't be this upcoming season. I hope Canales stays at UNT for a long time, I love Denton, I have grown to love the MeanGreen. And can't imagine cheering for UNT on Saturdays next year and watching the Meangreen win another bowl game.
