Anyone else miss the Dodge Era helmet?

    TOTALLY KIDDING!

North Texas Mean Green Helmet - NCAA Division I (n-r) (NCAA n-r) - Chris Creamer's Sports Logos Page - SportsLogos.Net

Not gonna lie, I get a bit of a Southlake Carroll feel from the new logo that has popped up on all the new athletic gear and such.

Maybe it's just Todd Dodge PTSD.

Aune does make some nonsensical throws, everyone agrees on that.

One thing you can’t ignore is that during his 4 year career Mason Fine’s very best QBR was 56.8 in 2018. Austin Aune had a 68.4 this season which just happened to be higher than Grayson McCall’s 67.7, Austin Reed’s 66.2, Quinn Ewers 65.6, Will Rogers 63.3, and Cam Ward’s 60.4.

Yes watching some of the nonsensical interceptions is maddening but the man is nowhere near as bad a quarterback as some make him out to be.

And thus, why QBR is BS.

I believe Littrell had a honeymoon period where fans let the man do things his way without too many questions. It wasn't until after a few seasons that people began to evaluate the data and question Littrell's leadership.

As for this recruit, I actually know a little about this situation (Don't ask me how). From what I've heard, Sides is a good kid and has had his sights on UNT for a long time. I believe Sides was set to be a preferred walk on under Littrell's staff. But IWU offered, and he was set to sign (free college is still free college). I guess Morris saw something in him that he felt merited a scholarship. I'm not going to question Morris on this one. It makes sense to me that if we are going to be able to identify under the radar talent, we should see it in our own backyard first. Davis was a solid player for UNT. Hopefully Sides will be too. Time will tell.

If it's important to Morris to recruit the Denton schools (it is), then a good way to open that pipeline is to start bringing in kids from said schools. Perhaps a little stretch, when you can afford to stretch, is a good way to start building those relationships, and building that trust!

Just a question, but I saw where attendance was only 12,000 . Any ideas as to why so low? I think we had more last year playing Miami of Ohio on a weeknight in the " MADE UP BOWL".

Last year's team was riding an improbable five game win streak going into the bowl game, and coming off the high of beating undefeated UTSA in the final game of the season. It was actually a weekday game, but weather was great.

This year's team had lost two of the final three games, just got done firing their coach, and it felt like fan apathy was at an all-time high. Compounded by the fact that it was near freezing temperatures for pretty much the whole game, and the game started so late that it ended after midnight local time, I was not surprised at all that attendance was what it was.

Actually, this year was more costly to the University. Wanted to do essentially the same thing as last year, but the Frisco Bowl wouldn’t allow it.  There was already a contracted tailgate event between the bowl and Tailgreeter.  You might recall that originally the cost was to be $100 per person.  The Alumni Association joined forces with Tailgreeter and paid down the per person cost so that guests only had to pay $25 per person (or $75 same day).  This cost the Alumni Association more money because much of last year’s event was made possible through alumni donated food, drink, etc.

Well in that case, glad you all did something. And sorry of the bowl to box y'all in like that!

Did they ever replenish the BBQ?

It was like 2 hours before the game and they had run out of barbecue. The bar was solid though and the band was pretty perfect for the event.

It was hit or miss. Luckily Rudy's was around the corner so they restocked in relatively short order every time they ran out.

I wondered if there was some kind of discipline issue with him barely playing in the first half. I don't remember seeing him on the field until late in the 2nd quarter and unless I missed it, I don't think he got a target until the 3rd quarter. He was dressed and on the sideline the entire time, and him being so limited in the first half felt like a major WTF.

He's so much fun and such a disruptive difference maker when he's on the field.

He always seemed to be a great home run threat, but routine passes to him often ended up on the ground.

My assumption was that they just stopped drawing up any plays for him other than deep balls.

If you did not attend the tailgate event last night, you missed the BEST event that the UNT Alumni Associate has ever put together!!!

those whole staff set the bar for big time College Football/sports!!!

Not as good as the ones that they did in Frisco last year, but I understand it was better financially for them to partner with a third party for a "tailgate in a box" type setup, so I'm all for saving the school money.

Next time, just please have a better beer selection!
