  1. Unlike football, I don't think a baseball team would need a redshirt year to practice together. There is no baseball playbook, you don't have to work on complicated offensive and defensive schemes like you would in football. I think a baseball team would only need a month or 2 to be field ready. (Think in terms of MLB spring training.)

I would guess 2016 is realistic. Will we win any games in 2016? Probably not many. But, they will have at least 9 guys throwing a ball, catching a ball, and hitting a ball.

  2. I'm just mentioning what I have seen adult men do in my life. Real men. Maybe we should talk basketball again haha. The leader of my church group won't watch tv (says a real man never should unless it's urgent news or a few sporting events). Says he should never curse, always hunt when your stressed, and always be within reach of his children at all times that he is not working. If your going to listen to the radio never music. Only books on tape or WBAP. That's just the start of being a real man. It's hard to follow of course. But that is what real men do. They mentor others. Hard enough for me to not watch tv at night though.

Sounds like a cult. DON'T DRINK THE COOL-AID! (Unless it's green.)

  3. You guys give sound reasoning. Next time I'll think before I type.

I guess more than anything, I wanted to see us play against a P5 school to see how we would stack up. (Georgia was early in the year and we weren't playing our best yet.)

However it ended up, we didn't get the opponent I think UNT deserves. I'm sure UNLV would love to see their team playing someone else too.

  4. I'm putting it out there. I hope Rice gets the shit kicked out of them by Miss. St. We beat their asses off the field, and we end up with UNLV rather than any of the P5 schools.

I know they won the CUSA, and have "earned" the right to play in this game. But, I can't help but think that UNT would have been the best CUSA representative for any of the games against a P5 school.

    We got hosed.

I hope the SEC puts Rice in their place.

Having said all that, I am totally psyched that we are in the Heart of Dallas bowl! And I can't wait to see us go out there and put a whoopin' on UNLV.

  5. The RTVF program does broadcast the games. I was the Assistant Sports Director at NTTV for a year. I can't imagine it has changed much, but when I was in the program, it was entirely student run. We directed, ran audio, graphics, replays, and stats from a closet under the pit. There were 2 students that did play by play and color. Also all cameras were run by students. We would set up all the equipment a few hours before gametime.

It was all volunteer work, but it was great "real-world" experience. Many of the people I worked with on the games have gone on to very successful careers in sports radio/television.

The unfortunate thing, is that the games are only broadacst on NTTV, so if you live outside of Denton, there is no chance of seeing the broadcast.

  6. Admittedly, I haven't been paying much attention to the mens basketball program this season. But, I haven't seen a game being played in a while.

Is the season over? Did we fire Benford? Did the team get stuck in Nevada during a snow storm? Did Benford bring 4 suits?

  7. There were two shitty teams on the field today, and UNT was the more shitty the two. We should've never lost to them. We were bad on both sides of the ball. Hopes for a great season, and capturing the attention of alumni outside of DFW are gone.

Are they really shitty? I remember the grumbling when they made to CUSA but I never expected them to suck for long. Should we have beat them? Yes. But we got outplayed, pure and simple.
