but I think there needs to be a mandatory alcohol awareness class that all the players should attend before the start ...
Pretty sure their actions that night prove they are aware of the existence of alcohol.?

Truth is I believe UH has done what needs to be done to seriously be considered for the Big 12. From the donors to the pres, bor, and altheltic director as well as conference dollars . Support must flow from the top all the way to the underlings and they must be given the chance and at times funds to do the jobs they got hired to do. Not saying this isn't happening here at NT, just a statement in general. Houston is proving to be successful. If Kansas (because of Basketball) can be in the big 12, UH can.

Target in Highland Village has kids jersey's, t-shirts, hats and such. Small selection , but comparable to the other college selections. And better than what their offering was before, which was zero.

Speaking of which, did 21 decide not to pick the game up from ASN? From what I can tell, it's not being televised locally.
No, but it's free on their website. Same thing happened with BBall last year. ASN was here but 21 wouldn't carry it.

Because of TV. They set the game time. That's why the UTEP game time has yet to be set.

We're not the only conference being asked to play weeknights. There was discussion, or maybe an article I read, about how TV would love a FB game on every night of the week. Hell, the nfl started adding a Thursday night game. Now colleges have to compete with that. But if TV does get its way, and TV usually does, guess which schools and conferences will be dealt the weeknight games? It's that double edged sword.Honestly, isn't the majority of P5 ball played during daylight hours? I mean, I don't exactly like roasting in the sun either, but it is a step in the direction of an actual football program. I just hope that these TV deals don't start to dictate more weeknight games. More than one weeknight a year, and I'd have to seriously reconsider the season ticket commitment. Not because I'd be pissed off, or not feel important enough, or any such nonsense, but I simply can't get to them, especially before October 15th.

Stop playing games in the afternoon in Sept.
Do we want to be on TV? If so, TV and Conference makes that call. I guess you just have to decide at some point what's more important to you. For years the complaint was why aren't we on TV? Now that we are in a conference that has a decent TV deal, we don't like that TV dictates when we play? Unfortunately we are not a P5, we don't get to call those shots. If we feel being on TV only hurts us in attendance then maybe we don't need to be on TV. Another post on here points to that very fact as to why attendance is down overall in college football. So which will it be?

These numbers are based on season ticket sales not walk ups. people are upset at season ticket numbers. I'm not defending the poor numbers just stating the fact that they are season ticket numbers. If there was a demand, if people cared about NT sports in Denton, if alumni cared, there may be a reason to have higher season ticket sales numbers. Fact is there is no demand for season tickets when you know you can just walk up and by a $10 dollar ticket and sit wherever you want. Other schools are the only game in town, we are not. There are a myriad of reasons why we've always struggled and I don't think it can be limited to the ticket staff just doesn't care to sell you tickets, it may or may not be true, but it's not limited to that. What team in the conference doesn't have walk up tickets? They may be limited at Marshall, but I would guess not that hard to come by. ODU has good demand and a very small stadium. I would guess there are plenty of tickets available at any Western Division member. Same goes for televised games, all CUSA members are on TV.

Everyone knows you can buy walk up. There's no demand. No reason to get stuck with tickets when TV picks up a game and forces us to play at 11:00 am Ssturday. Thursday nights or Saturday at 2:00 or 7:00 or whatever the time is people complain about.
