Except in Langston's case, these credentials are trending the WRONG WAY.

You'd like to see a guy go from high school, FCS/DII assistant, OC, HC, ...  you know, moving UP.
Instead, Langston's career seems to be on a downward trajectory going from DII HC, to HS coach, to FCS Asst, back to HS coach.

I'm just not a huge fan if he's the guy, but hey, we'll see.

So would hiring a fired P5 OL coach put that person on an upward trajectory?    Or a downward one....

    Agree Harry.
Let's not forget the last two "big time" WR transfers from P5 schools that came to UNT:
Tyler Stradford - borderline contributor at best, who wound up impaling himself on a fence trying to escape from a dog.
Darius Terrell - borderline contributor at best.
Transferring from a P5 school does not make one a game-changer at UNT.

Well of course that means this will end up the same way!!!!!!!

btw....   were either of those graduate transfers?

  3. I don't see the problem with this at all!  In fact I am a bit excited about this development and hope he can get onto campus!

    http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/125421/ellis-jefferson

The kid has great size, 6'4", and speed, 4.5 40 coming out of high school (as a 3* recruit) and was noted for his hands and ability to catch in traffic.    Both things that we need.  He was highly recruited, even UNT offered him! He has shown that he can finish what he started by graduated college in a respectable amount of time, and his leadership and example could be good for the youngsters and the rest of the team.

We don't exactly have a slew of experienced receivers on this team and I don't see where people can think that something like this is a bad thing.   We constantly bitch about the city not supporting the team and then when something like this shows up we find a way to make it a bad thing... How do we do that!!!???  Talented player, local product with family friends and fans in the city....  He has the potential to bring the local crowd to Apogee exposing our product to new people who have ignored us.    what is there to bitch about?!?!?!?   He even has a highly talented brother coming down the pipe!   All things that we should be excited about, all things that we have been clamoring for!

Ye, somehow we find a way to make this a bad thing...   unbelievable.

I for one say bring him on!

  4. Perhaps I am just impatient....   But i am so very curious about the status of our coaching vacancies.    Great new Grad Assistant which is wonderful.  But what is happening with our assistant coach searches?  Spring ball is almost here and we haven't heard anything yet, not even a rumor!

    Just curious.

  5. It is one of my favorite ways to keep up with the program.   You can go back and watch previous episodes, relive The Stand, the first HOD, remember some of the characters that have been here  in the past.   It is so well produced and polished.   It does differentiate us from other universities and allows a creative and fresh perspective into our fine institution.   I truly hope that BTG is something that we can keep going for years to come.

  6. Could the rumors be true?   Has UNT actually sold out our allotment from UTSA for the game?!?!   I sthe President really orchestrating charter buses to haul our fans down there?   What is happening, This is a stark contrast to a previous administration in the university and the AD who were content to do nothing, ever, to promote our teams.

    exciting times!

But seriously, are those actually happening?

Losses to Florida and this year's Middle are good losses. That smug loss is what is holding us down in any ranking system. If we are 5-2 with our losses to only Middle and Florida we would surely be ranked in the 60's and maybe even high 50's. I hate smu. Their cheating scandalous 30 for 30 came on ESPN2 the other night. Of course, they grew their 'tradition' with cheating in the 80's and now they get publicity and a 30 for 30 all for them due to cheating. Like I have said in the past, what's the downfall when it puts you in relevancy and keeps you in it. Make no mistake, Dallas media would gawk and awe at the notoriety of those nose thumbers if they were just 5-2. The media publicity would be unbearable. We have to beat them next year. It's a must win game.

Sounds like a good rivalry to me!

My only problem with the radio broadcast is that it lacks a meaningful postgame show.  It's very short.  Maybe 30 minutes.

I have to agree.  I stream the broadcast from the KNTU website and I am always a bit disappointed when the post game is over.  it is so short and doesn't really go into depth at all.  We have good personalities on the air for the pregame show, the kids doa  great job, and we have great professionals doing the broadcasts.  Can't we find at least an hour of content in there somewhere?
