I'm expecting (and think I will see):

    4 whole quarters of effort

    Improved tackling

    Less dumb penalties

Fine continuing to grow, along with his receivers

Explosive plays by our offense and defense

    Knee jerks on this board

Win/Loss isn't as big a concern as I just want to see this program (AD staff included) take itself seriously this season.  The wins will follow soon enough.

yes...  this.  W's and L's right now, I'm not as concerned.  I like this team's fight.  Even in the Florida game, I liked their fight...  no matter what, I'll be listening on the radio when I can.  it is tough saturday's with children playing sports...  go mean green

How close is Dr. Williams to retirement?  He looks relatively young, but I understand he's tenured.

Nothing against the guy, but seems like some freshness would do the Green Brigade some good.

so, he was my RA when I lived in Kerr Hall...  I believe fall of 1995 and spring of 1996.  If memory serves....    I have killed a ton of brain cells since then.

  3. The FL coach and the brainless faction of the Florida fanbase should be ashamed of themselves...  but alas, the FL coach and social media idiots are too stupid to be ashamed.  Their coach could do a bunch by simply publicly apologizing for his behavior, which includes lies about a targeting penalty history and not recognizing that their TE tripped Wheeler after being beat on the play.

and, of course, any article out there on sports walmart or cnn.com or whatever surface level type of sports website won't tell the whole story...just include info that the Florida coach is mad about a "dirly" or "late"(even though it wasn't late, but low hit on their QB)...  instead of exposing him as a fraudulent crybaby.

The MOB is a bunch of rag-tag students with no authority over them.  There is no value in what they're doing other than their own entertainment, really.

As for the Green Brigade...  many of the students in the GB are going into Music Ed as their profession.  In that field, they will be responsible for directing their school's marching band.    As much as many of you dislike the style of marching, the style the GB uses is the same that most High Schools in Texas march.  Honestly, I don't know why some of you old guys (looking at you SilverEagle) really like when a band marches back and forth in lines across the whole field, or simply spells something... to me that's boring, but you call that "pageantry".
Being in the Green Brigade is a chance for these students to gain knowledge and practice (you know, be educated) for their future careers.   They are not marching/performing solely for our entertainment.

And I know not all of them are Music Ed majors.  Many of them play because they enjoy it.  And that's fantastic.

Their "pageantry" is fine, and their skill is outstanding.   Sit back, relax, and enjoy "The Best Band in the Land".

apologies...  I was being sarcastic about pageantry, which may not have translated very well in my post.  I started at UNT as a music ed drummer in fall of 1994 and came out of UNT with a computer science degree and minors in business administration and music...  only thing I would change with the Green Brigade would be featuring the drumline a bit more, but I'm biased on that front.  Everything else is awesome about our band.

  5. While I have developed a hatred for the ignorance and social media blitz initiated by that moron coach for florida...and followed brainlessly by the florida moron fans(for those Florida fans that actually fought through the false targeting history and could actually see the trip and the accidental nature of the florida injury, I'm sorry for your vocal minority causing you to be lumped in with them),

I'm not a fan of making light of injury...  even if it is satire...  I believe the last time I remember the mob aiming their guns at UNT, it was to say that our degrees qualified us to ask "do you want fries with that?"

mob, funny sometimes...  sometimes not.  meh overall.

Fake poll question of the day, how about the mob's contribution to pageantry?  How does everybody feel about that?  Does that contribute to a great game day atmosphere?  Do you think that this added value contributes towards a winning program and should we ask the Green Brigade to add this to their repertoire?  I think it would add at least 2 home wins a year.  What do you think?  I'll hang up and listen.

My feelings aren't hurt if Florida doesn't want to play us again ... like ever.

I wouldn't care about that...  I just hate the fact that this negative spin is being perpetuated about our program because of a coach and misreporting from sports walmart...and their idiot fans...

And Wheeler's tackle on Matt Davis (SMU QB) while he was running downfield was a textbook tackle at the waist...not at the knee.  That is why there were no issues or complaints after Davis went out...everyone knew it was a clean hit, but unfortunately, his knee was hurt.  It's a tough reality, but knees get injured in football, at every level of football, every single day around the country.  The nature of the sport puts knees, and other joints and bones, at risk.  I have a couple of orthopedic surgeon friends and they get very busy this time of year!  Wheeler came out of Tyler JC regarded as a sack specialist.  He is going to get to the QB and hit him cleanly, but he will indeed hit him hard, like his nickname, "18-wheeler", suggests.

This is why coach butterteeth deserves some reprimanding for his antics...  He should have publicly apologized for his fit and contributing to his players taking liberties after the play...  and to go for 2?  what an absolute classless jackass.  I only hope that he has the sense once he reviews the actual film to publicly....PUBLICLY apologize.  in front of his fans and his team for being ABSOLUTELY IN THE WRONG.

BS. Once is an accident 2 times in 3 games is not. You may think cause we didn't score 60 on you that you won but your team took cheap little shots all game trying to prove to themselves they belong on the field with us. Pop Warner teaches you not to lower your head and launch at a knee. It may not have been his intent to hurt him but it was his intent to hit him low around the knee. I can only hope that the high school league you guys play in learns about this guy and makes a few of your players pay the same price. Luckily we took the high road and didn't retaliate.

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong....   wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong...

    breath...

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong...

You must not watch football much...

I would recommend classes on rational thought and potentially look into lasik or something...  in humid weather, sometimes glasses can get fogged up, obscuring your vision...

It is very very unfortunate that Del Rio got hurt.  That sux for him and it sux for the entire Florida team.  Nobody wishes injury on anybody if you have even half a heart.  But dude....  come on man.  Use your eyes, and watch that play.  and the SMU "incident", you are an absolute moron to even bring up the qb running in the open field.

so again, wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong...  never let the facts get in the way of an over emotional response.  I hope other Gator fans are not like you....  but then again, the twitter blitz on the beat writer and head coach tells me that your problem is a bit more common amongst the gator fans out there...

Why not?  I think we have a good shot at beating them both so long as we stay healthy.  Defense will keep improving within their system and schemes.  You have to remember we just went from a defense where we sat on our heels and took it on the chin to one where we are sending pressure every down.  In a defense like that you better make sure you stay in your gaps and in your alleys or it ends up being 6 points.

Both are winnable, I'm just guessing that we pull one of them out based on what I've seen so far this year.  Just my guess.  I'd love for them to take both.  That would be awesome.

I projected 3 wins, and honestly, I see nothing that has changed my opinion thus far.  I was always thinking that we'd pull out BC and 2 others...  Go Mean Green!

  10. It is NOT listed anywhere on DirecTv.  I'll be coaching baseball again during game time...  might be listening to Barnett streaming on my phone whilst coaching first base and repeatedly yelling, "turn those hips and squish the bug with that back foot" when the boys are hitting...

Exciting stuff for sure.  Go Mean Green!  Beat BC....  bethaune-cookman....  my son calls them the cookers....
