  1. Leach's big mistake was thinking he was bigger than the University. This is not an uncommon happening. We saw it earlier at K State, Bob Huggins at Cincy, and even back to Woody Hayes at OSU. The administration said they could not take the insubordinate behavior from any employee. I think Leach really thought he was above any type of supervision. I have seen people fired for lower levels of insubordination than this case seemed to concern.

  2. The cause will have nothing to do with Adam James. The "cause" will be insubordination which is recognized as a "cause" for termination in any avenue of employment. Leach's best hope is he can prove some kind of constitutional right that has been abridged. You know TT's administration did not make this move without the assurance of their legal staff.

  3. In today's times, a school cannot be to careful when dealing with head injuries. LaSalle University settle a suit this fall for almost $2 million. Several years ago, a player suffered a concussion. Then he played I think in the next game. He received another head injury which left him with a permanent disability. The settlement was out of court or likely would have been much more. With knowledge of things like this, administrators would be reckless not to take them seriously. I don't know if the James is a goldbrick or not, but if I am President of TT I would be on Leach like a tick on a dog or maybe more fittingly a leech.

  4. I agree with GrandGreen. If RV can determine that indeed Dodge has not lost the players, I could hesitantly take Dodge with the understanding bowl eligibility is the minimum acceptable. We cannot say a bowl game because no one at UNT can guarantee that.

  5. I know this doesn't sound right, but a study was conducted in the MAC about why players chose the school they selected. The winning record was not a major factor in the selection. I know this goes against common thinking, and it might not be true in teh Big 12, SEC, etc; however, the Sun Belt is more like the MAC than the big 6 conferences.

  6. Sorry folks. You make some good points; however, stem cell transplants for treatment of multiple myeloma is certainly no riskier than the disease. As far as being experimental, what is not experimental for a disease that is said to be incurable. I do agree with UNTFlyer the problem is really not insurance but the cost of medical care. The problem is we have to find some way to pay for the costs until the costs are contained.

  7. Unless you are very rich or have insurance, you are in real trouble today. I just finished having a stem cell transplant evaluation. Fortunately, the tests show I have to be monitored, but, at least, I do not have to have a transplant. I don't know what the total costs will be, but they already well exceed $20,000. On top of that I will have continued monitoring for the rest of my life. How can someone do this without insurance? We have a number of people on staff and in plant who are hard working good people. Our school pays the premium for the employee but not the family. Many of these people cannot afford to pay for their family. What happens if disaster hits them? What as a society do we do? What do the people who time and again say this is a Christian nation do?

  8. Are you sure WW regained his eligibility before he left . According to the article about the game, he sat out a year at NEO. Since he moved from D1 to D2, he would have been able to play immediately if everything else was in order. If he had been eligible, then they must have thought they had a better QB on hand.

  9. For those interested, Woody Wilson started at QB for Northeastern Oklahoma State Riverhawks Thursday night. NEO lost to Arkansas Tech University 44-32. Wilson was 17/33 for 232 yards passing and 93 rushing yards. Tech won lead by QB Nick Graziano transfer from University of Nevada, Reno.
