  1. Final week of the regular season and a lot of great games going tonight. Follow the live updates from around the area here. Live Score Updates
  2. Man the memories...can't believe the old stadium's going to be blown up this weekend. Outside of Six Flags and some of the local malls, Texas Stadium is the only place that I can still relate to my childhood. Seeing the pictures of it as it stands now and when it was first built is sad. Linkage
  3. Congrats to Riley for earning Athlete of the Year honors in the Metroplex! Can't wait to see him slingin it around here soon! LINK
  4. Always good to see some high school coverage, this year's Players to Watch is the best video on the site: 2007 Players to Watch Wouldn't mind stealing a couple of these guys commit to us!
  5. A move to safety is a natural thought but Marcus strikes me as a pure receiver. I think it would be a difficult transition for him to move there but with the logjam at receiver it may be considered but he has great hands and I think could make a better contribution as a possesion receiver.
  6. I would foresee Marcus as a possesion receiver. He's a big target at 6'3" and is pretty fearless going over the middle. He was able to get deep in high school a lot because he was never doubled covered and has good leaping ability. I guess the biggest question is are there enough balls to go around? With several talented incoming recievers plus what is already there, competition at this position will be fierce!
  7. Allow me to be the first to introduce Trinity Receiver Marcus King to UNT. I've watched him quite a bit over the last couple of years and I think we've got a very good one here. His numbers aren't all that impressive but if you know high school football, you know that he comes from a school (Trinity) that runs 80-90% of the time. He was a big part of their championship team last year, giving the Trojans a big boost as the go to guy when teams loaded up with 8 or 9 in the box. He has great hands but will need to get a little faster in College and I think he will. Here's some video of him from his junior year. Welcome to UNT Marcus! Link
  8. I'm excited about having both of these receivers from Colleyville Heritage. Here's some links to highlights that they had throughout the season for those of you who haven't seen them in action. Heritage vs. Denton Ryan
  9. That guy is spot on. He's a born leader and has a very impressive football I.Q..
  10. He's going to be a great fit here. There's a lot to be said for having a player that already knows the defense coming in. He will help immediately on the special teams and at some point I would think be the starting middle linebacker. Great kid and an excellent addition to the team. 3 more local players to keep an eye on - Receiver Marcus King Euless Trinity, Off. Tackle Spencer Rogers Hebron and Receiver Evan Walker Coll. Heritage. All 3 of these players are being recruited and I know 2 of them will be visiting this weekend.
  11. After watching this kid play the last couple of years, I think we've got a good one. He's cut in the same mold as Zach Thomas who was largely overlooked because he didn't fit the prototypical size that colleges look for. Here's a good feature from one of the local sites that gives you an idea of what people who know him think and includes a good video. Link
  12. I should know this but its been to darn long.
  13. For those of you at UNT back in the late 80's you'll remember when...We almost beat Texas...
  14. Keep in mind, that's sophomore and junior footage. He should be even better this year.
  15. Thanks for the welcome, and I have to admit - I am not Sammy. He was my favorite teacher during my years there (89-91). You guys might be right, injuries slowed him last year and he maybe off to greener pastures but I'd keep an eye on him this year, I think he could help us if we can get him. There's always a good running back out there that slips and UNT has a great history of finding them. This guy might be one of them, time will tell.
