Before this thread got ridiculously off topic, someone asked what else it was that was torn down. Bagheri's. I loved this place before it turned into a freakin hookah lounge. If you have not yet been to Denton to see what Fry Street looks like you really should go. I didn't think it would have an effect on me but I actually got tears in my eyes!! It is not the same place and it won't ever be. No matter if you hated Fry Street while you were in school or loved it, we can all agree what we once had there will never be again.

This is the fundamental problem with our school. Everyone thinks it is just a logo free-for-all. For the love of sanity can we get ONE logo and have EVERY PLACE/THING use it?!?!
PS--I love the title of this post, it is the reason I opened the thread, haha

BUT - didn't a bunch of you mock how much this job paid when it was first posted? Or am I crazy?
If we're all too good for the going rate, why complain when someone well-qualified takes the pay?
That was the Membership/Marketing position. I'm not sure we've seen what the Director position pays.
As for the job going to a non-alum, I think that actually is a good thing. We need someone to see things for what they are and not let their own North Texas feelings cloud their judgement.
On another note, I think it is completly pathetic that our alumni association has only 6,000 members. WHAT>?!?!?!?! Every single person on this board should go and join RIGHT NOW if they are not already a member.

If you look at their website, it seems they are falling apart from within. They are currently searching for a new Executive Director, new Director of Membership and Marketing and a new Director of Chapter Development...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It is 3-5 years. And how/why is this job open again? Or has it STILL not been filled since this time last year?! I am not a fan of the Exes these days, but what else is new. I will not get into all the reasons here.

It looks great. Thanks so much for posting those pictures. I think I'm gonna take a trip up there just to see it all in person. That waterfall is a HUGE improvement from what that area used to be. I'm excited!

Has anyone used a local moving company recently that did a good job and didn't break stuff?? I'm moving like 15 mins down the road but it's to the third floor and I'd just rather not deal with it so I need a good company to do it for me.
