Why in the world would the Saturday AFTER Thanksgiving be affect the attendance? I swear, the Mean Green fan comes up with every excuse under the sky to not show up to games. Thanksgiving is not like a two week holiday - it is one night. I will go out to my parents (or they will come over to my house) and we will eat.... by the end of Thursday I will want to get away from them so bad that I can't even describe it. By Saturday, Thanksgiving will be a distant memory. Some people might want to freaking SHOP on Friday and Saturday; but that shouldn't keep a fan away from a game 2 freaking nights later???!!!
I know that we are not A&M but they play ON Thanksgiving some years (they have done this as a promo before the two Pro games a couple of times)... and they always play the day after. I don't see them whining about having to make it back to College Station for that game.
I wasnt really referring to the average MG fan, moreso the student. When I was in college and my parents lived in Houston, it was nice to have a weekend away before finals. Many students may have parents in the Metroplex, and I see no reason why they couldnt make it. Some people have family in from out of town on that weekend and it makes it difficult to get away.
I live in Houston now, but I will be at the game that Saturday. I'm making a college football weekend of it. Gonna go to Kyle Field and watch the Lonestar Showdown friday, then cruise up to Denton for Saturday nights game.
Agree with Eagle-96, having it on TV might hurt attendance. Theres just alot of factors that lead me to believe that will be our LOWEST attendance game of the year

Wonder how many people we could cram into Fouts for a Nationally televised weekend game?
Well, any weekend OTHER than THANKSGIVING, we could probably produce a pretty good crowd... but I fear low numbers for that saturday

I kinda like it for one game, wouldnt like them for good as I think the longhorn is one of the best looking helmets (along with Michigan, Penn State and Notre Dame)
Were these the same ones they wore when they won their last N.C.? 69 I believe?

Anybody know where I could buy a t-shirt with the old stylized eagle logo? does anyone reproduce these, or is there any law against having one made?

But then not everyone in Nebraska likes the Huskers, I can't stand the huskers and I was laughin last year when they didn't make a bowl game. And I even live in that awful state.
I was laughing even harder when Texas Tech hung half a million on them
Nebraska will bounce back... I pick them to win the big 12 north (then get slaughtered in the big 12 champ game by whoever the south sends)

Also note the lame "SMU Football" logo on the site... looks like they have adopted the oh-so-hip looking logo design similar to UTA's... why dont people understand they classic block letter look is fine?

thought it was a good interview so emailed BaD radio, would love to hear DD on there- get our Mean Green some publicity, and build some excitement on the upcoming season!

3 thoughts:
1.) someone has already posted this video... If I have to listen to Thunderstruck in a sports montage one more time in my life, it might be too many, and I love AC/DC
2.) its probably not necessary to post it three times, all of us had to learn to read before we went to NT
3.) Troy.

I heard(from a source I consider to be very reliable) the entire team is ineligible due to low grades and that Southlake Carroll is going to play all our games for us in 2005. They will be adorned in our new vibrant shade of green with green helmets showcasing the new white squirrel logo that expresses our earthy roots and our commitment to our community.
Dont shoot me, im just the messenger.
Looking forward to it!

Ad says "September 8th"........that's on THURSDAY. Has this game been moved?
I hope so... maybe then we could get it on ESPN plus or ESPN U
And not have to have the game the same time and date as the big Texas Ohio State showdown

I have it as a 33-23 LSU win. Can a computer prediction program be wrong?
Well, FWIW I simulated the UT game last year, and we won... of course I guess we all know how that worked out...

Garret Burton is 6'11" and weighs 400 lbs... you think we could use a guy on the O-Line this size? Jeez. Imagine the lanes!

Here's his bio info...

C-USA West--- UTEP, 9-2 (7-1)
In the East the winner is projected to be Southern Miss 7-4 (6-2)
Also of interest, SMU is projected to put up a whopping a dead a$$ last record of 1-10 (1-7)... how demoralizing.
UH- 5-6 (4-4)
Rice- 4-7 (4-4)

saw this done on hornfans and thought it was a cool idea. (give cred to HuskerNKingwood)
For those not familiar with this, you answer the most recent buy or sell question, then come up with another one. Then the next person/poster does the same, and so on and so forth. It can be about NT or anything related to CF in 2005
So I will begin with,
Buy or sell, North Texas will win the conference again in 2005?

Will he be the downfall of the streak?
