  2. Stay in Post or Slaton and drive in.  If you just need a bed and shower for a night or two, you'll save a lot of money.  We were in Lubbock for Tech graduation and stayed in Slaton at Knight's Inn for less than $100.

    It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but...

  3. 4 hours ago, wardly said:

I grew up in Ft. Worth from mid 50's till I went to NTSU in 1961. Burger's Lake and the "polio" pool in Forest Park were the only places those of us with limited means could swim. I have good memories of both.

Was Barbrook pool in Haltom City open then?  I know it was in the 60's-70's.

  4. Some info from 247:

"A 6’1, 183-pounder, Brice was a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 650 player nationally and the No. 43 athlete in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Brice initially pledged to Kansas early in his recruiting process before decommitting days after receiving offers from Texas and Oklahoma. The Sooners landed his second commitment less than a month later, but it didn’t stick as Brice took an official visit to Austin days before the early signing period opened in 2021 and flipped to the Longhorns on Early Signing Day.

After playing quarterback and wide receiver in addition to taking snaps in the secondary for Seguin, Brice was considered a developmental prospect when he signed, an evaluation that bore out over his two seasons on the Forty Acres. While redshirting in 2022, Brice appeared in blowout wins over ULM and Kansas, making his first career tackle against the Jayhawks. This season, Brice was third on the depth chart at boundary cornerback and once again made two appearances in lopsided victories over BYU and Texas Tech, recording one tackle against the Red Raiders."

  5. It truly sucks for FSU, but UM and UW were locks.

No way the committee was going to leave Bama out after they knocked off Georgia.  When that happened, it opened the door for Texas to be in the mix.

But FSU (and the "Alliance") screwed over every G5 school with that idiotic and paranoid vote against 2023 playoff expansion, or they wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place.
