  1. I was a student at the University of Iowa when Hayden was hired in 1978.  We had endured 17 straight losing seasons.  He immediately turned the program around and earned a Rose Bowl berth in the third season.  He made so many changes from having the visitor's locker room painted pink to put them in a more relaxed mood to creating a new Tiger Hawk Logo to the team entering the field before the game in as he called it "The Swarm" to changing the uniform to look like the Pittsburgh Steelers who had won 5 Super Bowls that decade to all the quirky sayings he had.  My favorite was "Scratch Where it Itches." RIP to one of the greatest college football coaches of all time.

    For me

    Thursday 8/29

FIU vs Tulane - Curious to see what FIU looks like this season.

Texas State vs Texas A&M - Well we go to Kyle Field next season, might as well.

    Friday 8/30

Rice vs Army - Don’t expect Rice to hang in there very long, but oh well.

Colorado State vs Colorado - Nice rivalry game to start off the week!

    Saturday 8/31

FAU vs Ohio State - Not much to be said about this one.

Duke vs Alabama - Be great if there was an upset by Duke, however 99% chance it won’t happen.

Will be recording UC Davis at Cal Berkeley on Pac 12 Network Saturday 530 PM CT.

We are looking forward to the trip to Iowa.  Just a word of caution...may want to take it easy at the tailgate if you get your seats through UNT.  Our section at Iowa is the WORST.  I remember someone taking a tumble, last time.  Luckily only rolled a few rows.  It was a 2 pm start time in 2015, as well.  We were in the shade by half time.  A couple that had season tickets right behind our team came up near our area to get out of the heat.  They gave us their tickets, so that we could spend the second half behind the team.  We were in the sun, and surrounded by natives, but we didn't care.  Thinking about shopping for tickets this year! (Unless of course, they moved us to a better spot???)

I sat in those bad seats two years ago.  This time I bought much better seats from Stub Hub.

  5. My wife and I will attend.  Hoping the Mean Green will be much more competitive than the trip to Kinnick Stadium in 2015. Can't decide if I root for Iowa which is our alma mater or the Mean Green where our son played.  A win for the Mean Green might be the biggest win of all time for the program while it would be devastating for the Hawkeyes.

  6. Over the last two seasons I have seen him play around eight games for Hebron.  He is very talented and definitely looks like a D1 QB.  This past season he was the Offensive MVP in district 5-6A.  It would indeed be huge if he flips from KU to UNT!

  7. Without a doubt Carlos is a very talented player and certainly gives full effort each and every game. My son was on the team from 2007-2011 which included Coach Canales' first interim stint.  If my son had choose to ignore a Social Media ban that Canales also announced to the public in his press conference then I would have been extremely disappointed and upset with my son.
