  1. Just conjecture here as I have no way of knowing. But it seems to me that the difference in Seth’s hiring of coaches and Eric’s process is that Eric is not afraid to surround himself with people who are at least equally qualified with him or maybe more qualified.  It was recommended to Seth a year ago that he at least bring in a coupe of analysts like the bigger programs do and he refused. Seems he wanted to be the smartest one in the room.

  2. It can’t be easy being an interim coach. Your trying to motivate players who are nervous about change and motivate assistants that most likely will be looking for new jobs with the exception of 1 or2. I think we looked better prepared to play last night than we have all year long.  BS had better athletes in the right positions that we couldn’t match.  It was cool seeing Coach Morris on the sideline being involved.

Speculation, guesses, wild theories all welcome. This is the only constructive way I know how to express my pain. They won't hang onto him for long. Maybe West Virginia (I know they said they were keeping Neal Brown...but with Wren there now????)?

Wren was consulted about Neal Brown and said to give him another year.  So he is safe for now.

I read Mattress Mack made a ton of money betting on the Astros this year. Maybe he will throw some our way.

Don’t count on it.  He does not like us. Mac dropped by to visit him at his store in Houston and didn’t get a very warm welcome.

Not even remotely close to the same situation.

Babcock said it was a mutual agreement to separate. Once it became clear that Babcock could not guarantee another year, Fuente decided it would be best to leave rather immediately rather than finish out the season.

Babcock said the buyout was negotiated down from $10 million to $8.75 million to be able to make the move now. Had the Hokies waited until Dec. 15, the buyout would have decreased to $7.5 million.

"I understand Justin's point that, 'Hey, if I'm not the guy, you don't believe in me, that we need to do this,'" Babcock said. "I don't want to paint Justin in a corner. I don't think he quit on anybody. I think his meeting with the team today was great."

Still, it was a class move by Justin.  Yes different.

  6. I was looking up Justin Fuentes and I saw where he had written a gracious thank you to the Hokie fans upon his firing from VA Tech. Given that he was the highest paid coach in UNT history and had more resources than any other coach, we have heard no such thank you or best wishes from Littrell. I saw where several fans sent their best wishes.  But then, he never said much when he was the coach.

This is exactly what I think happens. Coaches are entitled as hell and think so little of UNT that they think we should beg for their 2nd tier talent.

Give them a little break.  Since Fry, we have not posted a 10 win season, have had  very few NFL draft picks, and not much success in big games. Also, how many times have they heard a sleeping giant speech?  We have to finally get the right hire and a coach willing to eat a little humble pie with the high school coaches and convince them they can trust us with their players. I have never seen anybody at the high school coaches ticket window at Appogee.  I think the entitlement attitude has worked both ways with some of our coaches since Fry.

Hope he did a better job than that Mellencamp dude that I hired.  He painted it PINK!!!  I just shook my head and said "Ain't that America!".    Not as annoying as that Jagger guy that kept trying to paint my front door.  I told him that I liked it red and did NOT want it painted black.  This is Texas, do you know how hot a black front door gets!!!

He did a god job.  Painted one of my son’s walls green and it turned out good. He was paired with some backup tight end named Grady I think from Tyler

I like where you are going with this but it also seems risky.  We would need to pair him with a very experienced  Wally Rig type of assistant HC to help him along the way.

Assistant Head Coach doesn’t seem to matter. Patrick Cobbs is the assistant head coach and he is not in charge of the bowl game.  I see and get your point, just been dying to point ant out about Patrick.  I’m parcel to Patrick as he painted my house one summer while playing here!
