Voted, twice. This thread should probably be pinned.

Not a lot of natural talent; but he seems to bring his lunch pail everyday.

Why is that sad? I thought he touted UNT splendidly in this interview. Kudos Brett Vido.
He sounded great. Hopefully the ath dept took notes....like people paid to tout the university.

How about the 'Mean Green'?

Honestly, just shut up. Just please, shut the hell up. You sound like a 11 year old girl who didn't get the pony she wanted for her birthday.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that yes, the AD staff, you know...people hired for such a role with a background and education in such a role...do in fact know more about promotions and such than I do. I'm also going to assume that Mac has a plan, and that Todge had one as well. I don't see the point you're making there...every coach has a plan, but not all coaches have a good plan. I also don't see the point you're making about the cupboard being bare again. Just because a shitty coach inherited a bad team with a bare cupboard, and then also left said team years later with a bare cupboard (remember the "shitty" part of his title), doesn't mean that EVERY coach will do this.
Seriously, this is the single stupidest, most worthless post I've seen on this site in my few months here. Mac won more games in less than 2 years than Dodge did in 43 games. If you don't see a difference, then you have one less working eye than Mac does.
Might wanna tap the breaks there.
Being one of the only students wearing UNT swag, promoting Talons in an empty Super Pit and on and on have earned Emmitt quite a bit if equity in this arena. And quite honestly, his point us that we are seeing the same stuff we saw under DD and under TD.
It boils down to this:
We can say things are different. But there bit different until we get different results (bball under JJ versus Trilli for example)

I thought Coach Mac doesn't want 5 QBs on scholarship(?) If that's the case, you can forget about us signing another QB; whether he be HS, Juco, or transfer.
Need to stack athletic kids like they are cordwood. Some to take snaps, others to play safety or linebacker.

There were some good ones. I also remember a Homecoming in the rain, or was that someone else ?
Yeah, there was them. Torrential downpour. I remember heading down to the bleachers in the end zone to use the walk ways like a giant slip n slide.

Seems like a lot of torn labias on this board.

Impressive spot for Tony. Not sure II buy the Mavs at 17 (they seem to be working hard to earn a lottery pick)

He is number 74 on the Orangebliods Texad top 100 list.

Guessing that would make him a three star prospect (which equates to a 8.5 Emfinger rating, I think)

If I remember right UNT went through this with several years ago...someone associated with campus police, if I remember right.

There will be four less OOC games next year. The SBC will go from 16 conference games this year to 20 conference games next year.
After Denver leaves....every team will play every other team twice. A home and home with everyone in the league.
So we will have to go to WKU twice?

Please bookmark this thread, for the next debate on whether we still think like a small time school.
We should hope our best basketball player does as well as he can, ans relish in all the media attention that brings.

Not having been a college athlete, I must ask: is th
Is the required gpa really a 1.8?
Either they both elected to major in physics; or they didn't make the correlation between going to class and getting to play basketball.
Hopefully sitting out will apply the appropriate degree of perspective.

I hope it's communicated to him that he is using a roster/scholarship spot and that he is to make his grades this year or he is shown the door. I REALLY want to see him join the team next year as I think we'll be down right scary come March of next year with Patton, Tony and Franklin down low.
And the 6'10" JUCO center, Odoh.

My 2 cents:
The fans have an expectation of this team, and is probably a bit higher than it woudl have been; if it weren't for the new stadium (it worked, it created excitement).
The difficult part for me is that RV did not make the correlation between the stadium open date; and how long it takes a coach to turn things around. ie, TD was fired 12 months too late.
The second order effects of that will be that the shine will have worn off the stadium a little.....so the coaches will have to get things turned around so that we dont see a drop off in the ticket sales from the more casual fan (or from the student population).
Bottom Line: The win 'x' games mandate was laid down too late; knowing that the stadium was coming.

He's right, Magic Johnson was one of the best white guys to ever play the game.

Seems strange to me, but why would something like this be listed in the game notes after a loss? I didn't read them, but was as it also given in the game notes after beating Indiana or FAU?
Rick
I doubt it was in the Indianna game notes; you dont have to explain away wins.

So another class without a DT
This is how Coach Mac ends up inventing the 1-5-5. It'll be Sarge, plus a whole lot of defensive backs.
