Do you think Cal can score in the 40s against us?
doubtful unless your defense is truly awful or there are defensive scores. cal's receivers were running open most of the game against davis and they only scored 27.

In the past 9 games, Cal has given up more than 21 points only once. That's after playing teams like UW (twice), WSU, Stanford, USC, TCU.
UNT can absolutely win this game. But its not going to be by scoring, they will have to do it thru their defense.
and that game had 2 defensive tds by the other team and cal had 5 turnovers total.

it's a berkeley institution and is actually quite good. The one on durant next to the stadium gets quite busy on game days, but it's pretty fast moving. i would not go to fat slice if you are looking for some quick food. it's awful pizza.

For sure. Seeing what Cal did to the Pirate & Minshew last year should be cause for serious concern for all Mean Green fans. I know North Texas is not a game that's going to pump up a lot of P5 fan bases, but I wasn't expecting to hear it from the coaches/players. So I have a slight glimmer of hope that maybe the offense can come out quick and catch y'all napping, expecting a player like 'that UC Davis guy'... instead, getting the real Mason Fine, not whatever he was doing last weekend.
after the big late win last week, it wouldn't' be surprising to see cal come out flat and give up some early points. hopefully (for my sake) they know better, but human nature is human nature.

I'm betting y'alls defense was a little more geared up for Minshew, not comparing him to "that <fcs school> guy".
And Fine would also probably be starting for y'all, as he probably would for a majority of FBS schools. He's a special player. I hope y'all get to see that this week, because he looked lost/unprepared last weekend VS SMU. Very much not like him.i imagine fine would start for cal. cal's pass D is pretty damn good and i've seen sonny dykes defenses so that doesn't bode well. Only herbert lit it up last year (cal's offense also had 3 or 4 turnovers in that game). wilcox has done well against air raid teams as well.

Good to see the sentiment runs all the way down to the fans.
Gardner Minchew was played at ECU and seemed to not suck and is starting an nfl game this sunday. I'm not sure why it's considered a slight if he's a good player. The Davis qb would probably start for Cal BTW.

Cal fan here. Comparison to UC Davis QB, Jake Maier, wasn't a slight, as he's considered UC Davis' best player and a legit NFL prospect.
This. He's good.

Soo back to cal plans. Looks like a lot of the bars will be closed before the game Saturday. Is there a place y’all have talked about going in the morning or is everyone just going to wing it? I wish unt was doing something official on game day instead of just the night before.
Henry’s should be open. Pappy’s and Kip’s too. Jupiter won’t open early for games which I’ve always found to be throwing away money.. faculty club will be open early too.

We are coming in from Houston on Thursday and staying at the Claremont with another alum from Denton. Was thinking of a gathering at the graduate hotel. I was told they have a nice patio maybe pre or post game. I think the location is good for campus and the stadium
They have a whole outside area in their parking lot for games. It’s a nice place to go pregame, but can get quite busy. Great location, near the stadium. Right next to top dog (famous hot dog and sausage joint) too. I believe they also rent out tents pregame to large parties too and provide food and booze.

I planned on riding the BART Train (speaking about the public transportation system, let's not go through this again) but probably big thing now is finding a place to store luggage since I am flying out Saturday night.
I don't believe bart has storage anymore, but you can google. The stadium does have an area to check bags, but that's a pain. i know there are some independent places in berkeley for day storage. don't know the names of them. quick google came up with this: https://usebounce.com/

Awesome!!! Just a short 5 hour walk to the stadium.
I guess they couldn't get Cal or local businesses to facilitate a large group of people from Texas
USC usually goes to the ihouse which is a 5 minute walk to the stadium. you must not have many people coming

Is there even parking at Berkeley?
not really. berkeley is anti parking. you can park at the frats and other places. Usually around $40-$50

Ok, thanks for the heads up. We wont be walking through any bad areas will we?
Also, what are the laws in Berkeley in regards to alcohol consumption on public streets? Like walking with an open container
no absolutely not. just avoid the people's park area as there are a lot of homeless.
it's somewhat frowned upon, but if you are drinking out of a cup rather than a bottle it's unlikely anything gets said. you won't get bothered if you are drinking from a cup on campus either. lots of people "tailgate" on campus (just no open flame or tents etc, think a picnic).

TripleRock has been a suggestion to try. I think it’s walking distance from campus?.
it's walking distance to campus, but on the opposite side of the stadium and personally i find the food and beer to be subpar.

BART train seems clutch. I'm staying in downtown Oakland at the Clarion.
bart is always the best option to get to cal games. you can walk through campus to the game in 20 minutes (beautiful walk) or take the shuttle. popular bars are: pappys, jupiter, or ralieghs. the faculty club (open to everyone) is a nice place to go pregame with decent food, good booze prices, and a short walk to the game.

Im Staying in Napa two night but staying at the Claremont Hotel and its a cheap Uber ride to the stadium. I was debating between this hotel and The Graduate which is right down the road and its a cool older hotel thats a 7 minute walk to the stadium.
you can absolutely walk from the claremont to the stadium btw. it's a great hotel. the cal team stays there (or used to). fyi it can be a pain getting an uber after games.
