Try a hot (hot link) and a brat (bratwurst). Oh sweet little baby Jesus with curly golden hair... my mouth is watering.

I’m gonna go with 38-13 Cal. Turnovers will make a difference and Cal isn’t easy to throw on.

Hells no. Niners fan since I was a baby.

Our defense is just as likely to score as our offense.

Interestingly, talking about tacos and burritos is one of our favorite topics on the Cal boards. Mostly we argue over whether So Cal or Nor Cal has better ones. Fuzzy’s looks good.

I went to the Cal board. I was told ANTIFA will greet me at the gates. I'm from East Texas, I'll put in a boot in their ass.
On a serious note, the other Cal fans were very friendly on the board and told me it was a joke. Apparently the Ole Miss fans thought ANTIFA would be at their game lol.
Yeah, it was a stupid joke. Texas fans had similar concerns a few years back. They left being less concerned about the commies and hippies and more about the fact that a Sonny Dykes coached team beat em.
Whoops... my bad.

Last season Cal beat North Carolina, BYU, Oregon State, Washington, USC and Colorado. The lost 10-7 to TCU in their bowl game. They aren't Bama but they beat some pretty damn good programs last season and also had some close losses against good teams. Holding TCU to 10 points tells me their defense is stout.
Your post stated my point much better than I.

I might be throwing stones in a glass house here. But Cal doesn't exactly have the foundation to be talking like they run the P5 world. These guys probably would be last place Pac12 if Oregon State or Colorado wasn't in the conference. I have heard a lot about this year's defense for Cal, but our offense will be stacked.
I do admire that a lot of them gives credit where it is due. Arkansas did not give us the time of day before they got throttled, they were SEC. Top tier P5 conference.
Ahhh... the Pac 12 is no good narrative. Take a close look at our schedule, especially our Pac 12 North foes and tell me, which games do you win?

Most of the knowledgeable Cal fans know that this game won’t be easy. Fine will test our defense. Hubris is not a thing associated with our program. We’ve been irrelevant too long.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will definitely prob check out telegraph ave one of the nights & top dog. Chez Panisse looks awesome but I will prob save that for my second trip back when I have more time.
Going to check out GG bridge and was told Fort Point is the coolest view for picture?
Also booking alcatraz tour shortly. Those are probably all we will have time for besides the Tailgate & game.
Fantastic. Yeah, smart to not plan too many things. Go with the flow and see what you bump into.
Fort Point is beautiful. You’ll love the view.
It’s a little ways from campus (easy uber ride) but some of my favorite bars are on San Pablo Ave. If you have time, do a short crawl there either at the beginning or end of your night.
Although all the sausages at Top Dog are great, my favorite thing to order is a hot and a brat (hot link & bratwurst). Being a Texan, you know what great ones taste like and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them. Please let me know and have a great time... other than the game, of course.

I am a California newbie. Flight is booked, flying into San Fran Friday afternoon. Game tickets are bought.
I am going with 3 of my recent Alumni buddies, need recommendations on hotels to stay at either in San Fran or close to Berkeley.
Where is the main college bar strip for Cal?
Top two places to sight see/eat in the Bay because only there until Sunday night.
Telegraph Avenue is the main strip but there are many options right near campus. If you want more upscale, there are restaurants and bars on the Northside of campus in an area called the “Gourmet Ghetto”.
Berkeley has world class dining and no shortage of places with endless variety. The two must go places for me are Chez Panisse, the birthplace of the American farm to table movement and one of the most influential restaurants in the US (make a reservation way in advance. I prefer the more casual and a la carte upstairs cafe to the more formal, set menu downstairs restaurant) and Top Dog. Simply, some of the best hot dogs and sausages you’ll ever have. Top Dog is where every student for 50 years has eaten and is iconic. I dream of the place. New York hot dogs leave me hugely unsatisfied.

We were in SF a couple of years ago in late May and went to a Giants game and I agree that the ballpark is great. Bring a jacket though, much cooler than we expected.
We also drove around campus and went by the stadium. I told my wife that I bet it’d be an awesome place to watch a game. The location is very cool and I thought that before knowing about the view from the east rim. I bet that is a fantastic!
Unfortunately is not in the cards for me to make this game. And even more unfortunate is that work may keep me from most games this year😢😢😢
Actually, the west rim might be the better vantage point now because of the large press box they built during the remodel.

Yeah, make sure you buy the Alcatraz tickets in advance. We will probably hit up the college bars after the game. Well depending on the outcome of the game haha. I can't wait to check out the Giants stadium. It looks awesome.
You’ll love the ballpark. It’s gorgeous. Also, California Memorial Stadium is in one of the prettiest settings in all of college football. Make sure to check out the view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge from the top of the the east rim. Also, Top Dog is a must. Best hot dogs ever and an iconic Berkeley institution.

I expect a much closer game than most do. As with most games, the difference will be who wins the turnover margin. I’d be surprised if Cal wins by more than 7-10 points and wouldn’t be too shocked to lose a tight one. Although, if we do lose to y’all it’s gonna be a long season for us in a stacked Pac 12 North. No offense.

Our offense was a clown show all year, culminating in the ignominy that was the Cheez It Bowl. I can’t even bear to eat those any more.
We’re hoping that this years offense is addition by subtraction in that we hope to have newcomers at the skill positions make a positive impact and our QB’s won’t turn the ball over at every opportunity.
You guys will have an elite offense but seem to have lost some important pieces to a defensive unit that was trending up. How do you guys feel about your D?

Cal fan here. While our LB unit is good, our DB’s are elite. Phil Steele ranks our defensive backfield as the 2nd best in the country, behind only LSU’s. Mason Fine should test them. He’s a very good QB. Best of luck to you. I look forward to the game.
