I posted this in a separate thread but I did find it interesting when he said Houston only won it once.  Memphis won it more than I had expected.  And never realized Temple was that good enough to win the league.  Makes me disappointed we got stuck with sad sack Seth all these years and no championships under our belt.

Wasn't it Houston playing against Memphis for those championships?  Its still pretty hard to get to the championship game in that league.

Yeah, you really can't judge a team by their bowl game but when looking at their results this past season, they beat some good teams and hung close to other really good teams in their losses (other than UH). They will be a tough outing for anyone if they keep that up next season

Agree, not a team that will be easy to beat.  Looking forward to playing the new teams though.  I wonder what the Tulane squad will look like next year.  I didnt pay attention to how many are seniors this year.

Don't get me wrong, within the conference I would be okay with UTSA and SMU losing every conference game and then tieing when they played each other. It's just after watching C-USA turn into a cluster F over the years I want the American to be seen as the top G5 conference without a doubt!

Same as far as AAC being the top.  Id rather see all our teams win.  Would love for SMU and UNT to win all games and then come lose in the Alamodome.  Does us no good to just bring each other down and have CUSA 2.0.  Hopefully Rice gets things headed in the right direction next year too.

Everybody on their remaining schedule suffers from split personality disorder except for LA Tech. They've been consistently bad this year with not many surprises.

What team does Rice bring to the game?  The team that lost to Charlotte or the team that took down UAB?  Puts me on edge....

I thought the announcer said they opened part of the upper deck for a game earlier in the season.  Led me to believe that the upper deck is generally closed, but I could easily be mistaken.

Usually closed off unless ticket sells are showing that it needs to be opened up.  Was opened up for the Houston game and then UNT.

I know the advanced stats say we got dominated, but it never felt that way IMO. Probably because we had the lead the vast majority of the game.

It honestly felt like Aune could just throw the ball up in the air anywhere and there would be a receiver there that may or may not catch it.  Funny thing is in the end, our defenders couldnt catch it either.  Maybe there was too much mustard on those passes.

It was assistants. UTSA school president had to get in between. Bad look for both staffs, but thankfully it was "behind closed doors" sort of.

Don't like the school president having to get in the middle of those things.... I can see why they would be upset about that call, im sure from the field it looked like a bunch of BS.  I didnt believe it until seeing the replay on the tv.  They actually gave us a half yard less than what was really earned after the review.  Pivotal play.

From the reaction of UTSA fans, their rival is us.

Whats funny is the talk from both sides saying the other is not our Rival, yet when the game comes up both sides start getting bad blood.  RowdyTalk often has UNT threads, and the same for this site.  Any time I come here there are mentions and talk about UTSA.  For me, I dont care as long as the game gets the fans and team motivated and most years this game seems to do it.  Lately UAB has been doing it as well.  Either way, great game coming up on Saturday.  Safe travels for those going to San Antonio, wish I could be there.

  9. The NT team that played LA Tech has a good chance in all of those games.  Our O-line is in terrible shape due to injuries.  Pulling a D-Lineman that has never played offense over to play O-line isnt a good sign.  Frank is good at scrambling, but its not something you want to rely on.  Match up on Saturday will be a good game to watch.

It will take work from the AD staff...marketing, ads, media, talks with city and business leaders, social media with students, etc.  Not just a tweet saying to "expect a big crowd".   The rest of the games on the home schedule will require more effort.

Didn't realize it was homecoming, probably will be over 40k if both teams do well leading up to the game.

Here's why Traylor is begging the KFC fans to come out. The Alamodome is opening up their upper decks, something they didn't even do last year. Let's just say it's not the folks in orange and white that's buying all the tickets. 😉

Opened up the upper deck for a few games last year.  There wont be as many at this game as there were a the UAB and title game, but close.  There will be quite a few coog fans there, but dont let your head get too big.  Won't compare to how many Roadrunner fans will show up.  Houston can't get over 30k to show up to a home game, we hit a few games in the 40k range last year, but you think we will be outnumbered at home?  Truthfully, I dont know how Houston has had so much success, but struggles with attendance as much as they do.
