no way... our "signature win" this season is over 10-12 New Mexico
which completely sucks.
So whats the point of winning the regular season conf championship?
that means our conf is set for a team to have to win regular season championship and conf tourney.

I really think we will win conference but WKU will win the tourney.
IF that happens does the NCAA take both teams?
they should.- 1

Sure, but I was meaning for trying to assure being in the top pod. We need to at least split the home games next week. Both are going to be really tough.
agreed.

Won’t ever complain about a road W in conference.
Need to tighten things up before our games against Marshall and WKU. Gotta at least split those games.
They need to win both of those games. Basically need to win out and hope for some help in order to win conf.

Best wishes to Wyche.
Can get more carries somewhere else. can't blame him for that.

Littrell could leave, but I do not think he will.
He came to North Texas and said his mission was to "win championships and win bowl games". We have not done either yet. If he were to take the K-State job or another P5 offer, he would leave UNT without achieving what he set out to do. I don't believe the man could stomach that. I'm sure our fan base irritates him from time to time, but he can't deny that there is a core of fans that really care about this program, and he will probably never have another opportunity to build something from scratch again. Few coaches get to make a mark on a program like Patterson has at TCU. Littrell could do the same here at UNT, and he knows it. How much does Littrell like or hopefully love North Texas? We will find out soon.

Big difference between "I don't think he can get it done." and "thank goodness he is gone."

You must be a huge fan of Art Briles. He sure did win a lot of football games.
that's a pretty big thing to say. Art Briles? really? and i'm classless for questioning someones ability on the field?
If you ever want to have a respectable and cordial conversation, come see me in section 102 front row next year. Just yell "Jeremy".
and i do mean respectable. no ill feelings here. -

All you can ask of a player is that he works hard, listens to his coaches, takes care of his school work, and is a good teammate.
AP did all of that. No need to ever bad mouth him.
I hope he finds a lot of success at his new home.
I get all of that.
so we cannot question his ability on the field?

If this team could convert on short power yardage it would be 12-0 right now.
Is it personnel? Play calling? Execution? It's s big enough problem that it's probably a little of everything.

You're reading me wrong. I think that's awesome for us. It was posted as a way to call out the idiots who think we should go undefeated or that they are not going to watch us play anymore because we lost to ODU last weekend. The Leach comparison is not a bad one, at all. He's a great coach--but Tech fans got spoiled into believing they should have more than they got under Leach. If we go with 7-9 wins again next year, that would be awesome to me--but there are obviously posters here that believe that my expectations should be higher. All I'm saying is that Mike Leach 2.0 isn't bad--but its going to have the characteristics I listed originally.
Right,
but your comparing a G5 conf to a P5 conf to which at that time was one of the most dominant conferences in football with 2-3 teams playing for a national championship every year. ( 2 alone in the south division).
tech had those 7-9 seasons for a reason. because they simply had inferior talent compared to the powerhouses in that conf.
Leach did an amazing job with the talent he had.
You could apply the argument "coach X loses games they shouldn't lose just like coach Y" to just about 99% of the coaches in FBS.
that's not a good comparison. -

I have said all along that SL is Mike Leach 2.0. A guy who knows offense, very little interest in defense, wins games that nobody thinks you will, lose games nobody thinks you will. We have problems with physical defenses and problems when momentum changes. We all saw this with those Tech teams under the Pirate for years. Everyone who likes Leach thinks his 2008 season was the norm, but nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, his normal results got you anywhere from 7-9 wins, which always included 4 OOC patsies.
I'd be happy to take Mike Leach 2.0 with 7-9 wins if that's the case.
Have you watched UNT football, like, ever?

Lol I’m not a fair weather fan I’ll support UNT even at 0-12? But when your team blows a giant lead against a horrible team I’m not gonna go all out and waste money, time, & hangover on a Thursday night for them. You missed the whole point of my post.
K..Bye.
