On this shot, it looks as if the nickel is at the 12 yard line.  Why?  Davis is one on one with Sutton.  Not the only time Sutton was one on one.  The two safeties are in the middle of the field.  No one on top of the route yet.  Davis was supposed to box him out and jump straight up to knock it down or rip through his arms.  The safety over the top should have been there to stop the route and make the WR adjust.  The wr was not supposed to get that deep and behind anyone.

2 LBs sitting at the 40 in no man's land.  Waiting for what?  Davis shouldn't have had enough time to even get that pass off with two free LBs.

Im hearing first team lbs are Ellis, Wallace, and Akunne for now.

there will be good competition in this area, and even though we lost leadership and experience, the athleticism and speed will be upgraded.

TCU was looking at him for safety. He's a man to man, bump and run corner. A true man to man, cover corner is hard to find and from some of the UNT games i have seen, he may already be the best man to man cover guy on the team immediately. If he gets any faster this track season, he will be running a 4.3 40, so he could also play FS safety. It will also depend on the type of defense UNT will run. If it's a lot of zone, then he will have to learn the defense and schemes. Not a lot of thinking with man to man. If he is able to step in and lock down a corner, that will allow the safeties to do a whole lot more in the box.
