  1. Thank you.

BTW, how about a word concerning the youth movement Patterson had to deal with this year,.... R'S Freshman QB being inserted in the 5th game of the year,... 16 freshmen having to play significant time...etc..and most importantly.....NO EXCUSES.

    Rick

The guys have exceeded expectations and done a spectacular job. Its unfortunate that Casey went out in such a way but I like what Trevon is doing under center. If Casey comes back in the Spring, it will be an interesting battle for the starting spot. Hopefully CGP stays and continues building us up and I can't wait for our bowl game. The Dallas Skyline glowed purple the night we beat SMU. We have truly arrived and can officially call ourselves DFW's college team.

You guys in Denton can have a bright future if you play your cards right. 2013 will answer a lot of questions about where this is heading. WIth conference re-alignment going on right now, this is UNT's last chance to get it right before history repeats itself reminiscent to the SWC debacle.

  2. Once you guys actually start trying to win recruiting battles against us, Houston, SMU and Tech, you guys will start getting somewhere. If you notice the thing we four have in common, is the fact that most of our recruits have multiple BCS offers. We all have something to prove and aren't afraid to go toe to toe with the SEC and others for recruits. UNT needs to show that they have something to prove too and stop only going after guys with no other offers or a bunch of FCS offers.

And yes, I know we're a BCS school now, but of course we weren't that way before this year. We still have something to prove and will always have something to prove but before anybody respected us, we were out there earning and fighting for it.

  3. According to Rivals: We have 10 verbal commits. All are rated 2 star. Of the 10 that are committed, only 3 have offers from other schools (Nelson-1, Schilleci-1, Scott-1). All are from Texas except Berglund and he is considered a transfer.

Houston (CUSA/Big East) has 7 commits from the state of TX, all 3 star. SMU (CUSA) has 14 commits from the state of TX with 6- 3 star, 5 - 2 star and 3 not rated.

    .

If this is the best we can do in the state of TX, we need to branch out and recruit elsewhere and continue to use jucos. The HS class is weak.

I hate to add insult to injury, but Texas State has 10 recruits. 2 of which are 3 star and the other 8 are two stars. UTSA has 9 commits, 1 of whom is 3 stars and the other 8 are two stars. UTEP has 7 commits. 1 is 3 stars, four are 2 stars and one is unranked.

According to rivals, UNT has the weakest class out of all the Texas FBS schools.

  4. If Mac can't get more than at least 6 wins next year, then he should go. Sure in CGP's first year we lost to FCS Northwestern State but at least he got us turned around in year 2. With Mac, I'm not seeing too much progress other than running off most of Dodge's players and playing the blame game. Year 3, no excuses, period.

  5. UTSA fans think we are arrogant (I am very arrogant), talk down (yep), and trying to keep them down. That is pretty much a rivalry right there. Don't think of it as Rival = Equals. It is more WANT THEM TO LOSE SO BADLY.

    1. There is no reason for UNT to be "arrogant".

    2. UNT is not trying to keep anybody down.

    3. You have absolutely no idea what a rivalry is.

  6. You're ribbiting around here for no apparent reason, so you surely must think it's big.

No, I just came to look and see if the stories I heard were true.

Amusing that a frogwould come on here, as their football team is crashing and they can look forward to another year of forgetable basketball.

Didn't we just knock off West Virginia on the road in morgantown last week? I could've sworn that we were 6-3, and bowl bound. I also recall putting 45-50k in the stands on Saturdays plus in the Big 12.

Despite losing 2 of their last 3, I would take a win over #21 WV and a 6-3 record any day of the last 8 years.

    +1

Heard your coach got stolen by the Razorbacks. Still small time, even in the Big 12? Yikes.

CGP is still in Fort Worth first of all. Second, you HAVE to be the most retarded poster on here.

Ha! The self-consciousness of you small privates is very amusing.

If I was self-conscious about another school, it sure as hell wouldn't be UNT.

  7. Froggy has ADD. No need to thank me, just take your drugs & you'll be OK.

That's not what I use them for...

Agree. Two years of football, much less FBS football, and utsa is already a rival? Really??? Our standards have dipped so low.

UTSA doesn't want a rivalry with you guys according to their boards. They want Texas State. Like I said, UNT is the odd man out.

  8. traditional In-state rivalries (FBS and FCS)

    A&M-Baylor* (Battle of the Brazos)

    A&M-Tech*

    Tech-Baylor

    Baylor-UT

    UT-Tech

    SMU-TCU (Iron Skillet game)

    Houston-Rice (Bayou bucket game)

Sam Houston-SFA (Piney woods battle or something)

    Lamar-Sam Houston

UTEP-New Mexico State (Battle of I-10)

Texas State-UTSA (brand new football rivalry but rivals in every other sport)

Texas Southern-Prairie View A&M (Labor Day classic)

UNT is the odd man out.

  9. There probably are more total drug users at UNT than TCU, UNT is also about 4-5 times the size of TCU. No UNT players were kicked off the team and there also was not a drug ring within the football team. Perhaps you should go ask for a refund from that severely overpriced "education" you have.

"Education"? Don't make me laugh, UNT is a complete joke. You honestly think the glorified community college in Denton is better than a degree from TCU? Sure, music but if I want a real degree, I wouldn't get one from UNT. You have no in-state rivalries, nobody wanted you in the SWC, nobody wanted you in C-USA while we, SMUt and Houston were there. People in Texas barely even want to play you and when they do, it's because they need a tune-up game. You finally get into C-USA and it's after we all go to better conferences.

Go on any other Texas school's board and do some UNT chest-thumping, everybody will laugh. Hell, I'll even draw out the tiers in respectability among Texas schools.

    TU

    Aggy

    Tech

    TCU

    Baylor

    Houston

    SMUt

    UTSA

Rice (They sure as hell would be invited to the Big XII before UNT is even considered)

    UTEP

    Texas State

    UNT

    SFA

    Sam Houston

    Lamar

Of course, you guys would not do that because you honestly have nothing to brag about. Someday you guys will learn that you have to earn your respect instead of expecting it to be given to you.

  10. Tcu can kiss my a$$. Go away and work on the drug problem. Funny u call us hippies but whose team recently got busted with drugs? And lastly did we go on to ur board? so dont be stunned when I insult u.

There are more druggies at UNT than TCU. I remember over 30 players being suspended and/or kicked off of UNT's team about 7-8 years ago. You don't want to start a TCU vs UNT argument. That would be too easy for me.
