  1. Shut up losers. We took care of business today and why would I or any other alum make the trip up to Fort Worth to watch them trounce a Southland school? Ill come up when Big 12 play starts. A conference you can only dream about being in or put yourselves in on a video game.

  2. 18k people jumping around isn't much of a homefield advantage no matter what you do.

In Fort Worth where 50k show up, jumping around in Amon Carter filled with nothing but black shirts, the crowd is ELECTRIC while waving the giant fear the frog banner in the stands.

And before you bring up records, you played IDAHO while we played LSU. Anybody (except for New Mexico State) can blow out Idaho but not many can stand toe to toe with LSU. Were taking the Big 12 this year. Book it.

  3. I counted 15 starters that are Dodge's players. Considering that no transfers or JUCOs are starting says one of two things. Either McCarney is a terrible recruiter or that Dodge didn't leave the cupboard as bare as everyone thought. Though in all honesty, I think its both.

Everybody crowed about waiting until he got his guys in and how much better the team will be. Well, its been three years, his guys are in and they suck. These are the lasts of Dodges players, after they graduate this year, UNT is going to be in some serious trouble. (Assuming they aren't already)

  4. Yes, that would be progress, after two years of malfeasance by a staff. We are at, or near rock bottom. Have you ever been there? Hint --- not too long ago according to the history books, my friend. I like this board and UNT, but my Lord, after what you guys are crawling out of, a few of you sure think you're the cat's meow for dominance and Ws. We will show up. We will put forth a good effort, I am sure. It will be worth your time houstonmeangreen, but you may have to hang around for most of the game. Here's to an injury free game and a contest that hones both teams for the next contest.

They believe that they will magically get to a bowl game this year despite showing little to no sign of improvement. They also think that they will somehow drop 50 points on your D despite only scoring 21 on a bad SWAC team until the end of the 4th quarter where they had to run up the score a little to not make the game seem so close. Their golden boy qb Berglund was supposed to be the star of the show but he turned out to be a bust and are stuck with Thompson for another year since anybody with half a brain can see that he's the best they got. They don't seem to understand that they are up against a Petrino. Both teams are awful BUT it wouldn't surprise me one bit if McCarney is completely outcoached by Petrino.

Be careful not to call them out on their hypocritical bs too much because they'll put you on double secret probation like they did me and a few others.

  5. You guys are in such denial over Berglund, its not even funny. First it was he's going to come and outperform everybody while on scout team. He did alright but wasn't flat out impressive. Then it you all changed it to he's going to win the job in Spring Training, he didn't do that and everybody started talking about his "injury". You guys backtracked once more and started touting about how he was going to heal and blow everybody away during Fall Camp. He ended up getting beat out by a true freshman. NOW you guys are claiming that he hasn't had to time to grasp the playbook despite being here for over a year and despite the fact that a true freshman has picked up on the playbook more than he has. Many of you are also claiming that McCarney is saving him for conference play which doesn't make a lick of sense. If he's as good as many of you are trying to convince yourselves he is, then he'd be starting out of the gate.

Thank God we have Pachall and Boykin, not only would both of them outplay all of UNTs qbs but Id stack them against almost any qb in the country. Esp Pachall.

  6. UNT vs Idaho= the biggest pillow fight in the country. Two bottom 10 programs that don't even belong in FBS(as far as budget, performance, support and in the case of Idaho, facilities go) are going at it.

No matter how crappy the two programs are, SOMEBODY has to win and as of right now, I give the edge to Idaho. Better qb, better coach and better defense.

  7. Told y'all this was going to happen but did y'all listen? Nope! Good ol Uncle FroggyStyle is right again.

You all should see some of my other posts foreshadowing other stuff to come for this years team.

For y'all sake, y'all better hope the freshman can play. Even then, he likely will not be enough and UNT will be anywhere from 0-12 to 4-8. No quarterback and a very poor D Line among other things is just asking for trouble.

  8. UNT fans are in denial. I foreshadowed this happening almost a year ago, you expected a guy who hasn't played in a game in about 2 years, to come in and start at a D1 program. You kept making excuse after excuse for him, but if he was going to start, he would be #1 right now. He has had well over a year to get it together. He came in summer 2012, he had all of fall to learn, he had the entire spring to get things done, but when it was revealed he was #3, he then had an "injury" (which may have been true but doesn't excuse the fact that he had over a year to prove himself) then he had all summer, 7 on 7, and now Fall Camp he is still #3.

He left because he couldn't even start at JUCO then almost went FCS whee he may or may not have started.

In the case of TCU, we recruited Boykin (who was rated a few spots under Berglund that year) we redshirted him and when Pachall got in trouble, he was ready to go and compete. He had the same amount of time as BB to learn what is actually a much more difficult offensive scheme and still got it done.

Manziel learned a totally different offense in only about 6-7 months and won the job in fall camp. No excuses.

Gholston beat out multiple upperclassman and earned his spot. No excuses.

Mariota learned the Oregon offense and started easily. No excuses.

Brewer was rated ahead of Manziel and Berglund by one and two spots respectively. He's the reason Young transferred and when he comes back from his injury, he will be the starter once again.

If BB is supposedly who you guys claim he is, then why are all of these guys of similar skillsets getting it done but he isn't? You can't make excuses forever.

  9. What a shocker--Froggy Style is awfully quiet about his supposed team and his prediction for how they will do. It doesn't seen like a tough question, unless you are afraid to go on record.

Unlike 99% of UNT grads, I have a real job and therefore can't get on here every day. We plan on winning the Big 12 with Pachall and legendary Patterson leading the way.

why don't you look back to see where UTA kicked your ass....yes UTA...I suggest you keep things in perspective.

Typical UNT fan living in the past. I may as well join the club and go watch some ROSE BOWL highlights.

..cause he missed the early short bus this morning.XBl8K2J.jpg

    Rick

That bus is more valuable than the car you drive or should I say the firetruck you ride on. I bet when you want to eat fancy (well according to the money you make, having a UNT degree and all) you turn on the siren so you don't have to wait in the drive-thru. I on the other hand, drive a Range Rover

  10. The fun part about all of this, is reading all of those facebook posts. The anti-stadium posts have 20+ likes yet the pro-athletics posts only have 3-5 likes. If the entire student body would have voted, Apogee wouldn't have been built.

You have 36000 students near one of the biggest cities in the country yet you have never sold out a 30,000 seat stadium. Not everybody is meant to be a major sports school.

  11. What the Roadrunner needs to understand is that UNT was the guy everyone has bullied over the decades. (Being snubbed from the SWC where everybody in Texas who matters played in and they are still feeling the effects of that today. They were also forced to drop down to FCS, were snubbed from the original CUSA where TCU,UH,Louisville,SMU, Cincy, USF, UCF had epic battles with each other while they looked from the outside with grief and envy.) When they first proposed demolishing Fouts, they were laughed at and ridiculed. They have been down in the dumps for a very long time.

Then comes UTSA out of nowhere and they are simply handed an invite to the conference UNT tried so hard to belong to. Then they hear about UTSAs impressive crowds and decent city coverage. All of this in only 3 short years. UTSA is now on the same level UNT fought for painful decades, losing generation after generation of students.

Think of UNT being that fat ugly chick who lost a crapload of weight, got a new hairdo and is the talk of the town for half a second but here comes this slightly prettier girl who captures everybodys attention without putting in the work she had. That girl is UTSA.

As a psychologist, I can tell you that its a psychological complex amongst UNT fans having to reassure themselves that they are better than UTSA even though there is evidence that seems to point to the contrary.

  12. Forgive me for paraphrasing Santayana, Froggy Style, but those who refuse to learn the lessons of the past really are doomed to repeat them and you are destined to repeat your wretched yesterdays from the sixties and seventies. Pride goeth before the fall, antagonistic amphibian.

Stupid UNT fans don't know that Horned Frogs are actually lizards. One should be concerned about the quality of the education they are receiving from a school that doesn't teach its students the difference between a reptile and an amphibian.

Also to whoever said something about me "pissing on the antpile that is GMG", keep in mind that Horned Frogs eat ants. But of course, I wouldn't expect you guys to know that either. After all, you give out degrees for knowing how to play the kazoo and prancing around like a fairy. The hardest thing you will ever read at UNT, is the back of a cereal box.

  13. The fact that you're talking about gloating over a win against UTSA (and that's a big IF you win) shows the sorry state of affairs plaguing North Texas football.

"You want a war? Then we'll give you a war!" (a line from Costner's movie "The Postman"). Do the UTSA people and their shamelessly biased (but most naive) local sports media yet realize that all their fried chicken in hands waving fans do not get to suit up for any C-USA football games? Let these head strong novices from San Antone' win all the pre-season polls they want to fabricate till the cows come home, but the fact remains they will get to visit a real on-campus NCAA Division 1 college football stadium that Henry Cisneros had not a damn thing to do with its creation. Our stadium was funded in a most impeccably honest sort of way, too. In fact, we also had a football team to put in our stadium once finished. :) The following prediction based on most of a returning Mean Green football team of which 7 of our players are on Phil Steele's C-USA projected all conference teams, ie, more than any other CUSA football team)................ along with some dandy NCAA FBS transfers and more than a handful of most talented UNT red shirt frosh, ie, with most of this returning Mean Green football team who were part of a huge (bowl bound) University of Louisiana Rajun Cajun nationally televised ESPN win at Apogee last Fall and for Bill Snyder's (Top 25 poll ranked & bowl bound) Kansas State Wildcats last season a "much too close for his good" UNT-KSU football game when Derek Thompson had a game plan presented to him which utilized his skills to the max. The prediction being this: Post-game at Apogee Stadium, UTSA (with their skinny little bird legs) will be running south on the Interstate 35 of their choice back to San Antone' like a real Road Runner, but rather one which didn't quite 'ska-doodle" fast enough but rather one that will have been hit by a Mean Green 18 Wheeler Trucking Machine creating road kill out of these Road Runners of UTSA; that is, their football team which will have lost to yet another C-USA opponent, but this one which will be dressed out in a perfect shade of green. And then this group of Road Runners will (if they haven't already) have to re-think and regroup from what will have turned out to be stark reality check compared to their school's quite naive summer time football fantasy predictions for themselves; that is, when schools like UTSA sometimes even see themselves as NCAA national championship contenders. :fpc: In closing...........the University of North Texas Mean Green will give these NCAA FBS novices a pass this time mostly based on their being new to all this along with their complete utter naivety, but the University of North Texas Mean Green will not let them leave "Our House" this Fall with not much left than a bag full of Kentucky Fried Chicken bones. GMG! PS: :zoro: Even Zorro (apparently yet another of many of our rich and famous UNT alums) is working on a "UNT Wins" sword-produced inscription made especially for the Road-Runners of San Antone'. The gloating after this game will be so-ooooooooooooooooo sweet and righteous because of some of their fan's recent & numerous condescending remarks about our school. North Texas will (in deed) against the UT-SA Road Runners....Take No Prisoners! (So...game still on, Road Birdies)? :bbq:

  14. A split will happen most likely. There's currently 64 schools + Notre Dame. I expect them to round it off at 70 by picking up BYU and some combo out of the pool of Boise, UNLV, Colorado State, Cincy, UCONN, Houston, USF, East Carolina, Temple and UCF. Once 5 of them are selected (imo I see Cincy, UCONN, Houston, Boise and either USF or UCF) though if the P5 goes to 16 each, then I can see all of those schools being chosen.

    Time will tell.
