  1. Hey GMG friends! It's been a while since I've been on here, but many of you may remember me as half of the dynamic duo known as "the sign girls." Anyhow, I'm moving to Colorado in a few days and have some items I've collected along the way that I wanted to give you all the opportunity to buy. I also have season tickets for football that I won't be able to use if anyone is interested. They are in Section 104, Row 13, Seats 8, 9, & 10. See photos below for the items. I don't really want to assign a value to anything, but I could really use the cash toward my first month's rent. So, just tell me what you want to pay for the item(s). Thanks y'all!

PS, any alums in the Fort Collins area?

  2. Hey y'all! The student group I advise, UNT Student Alumni Association, is hosting the second annual I <3 UNT Day tomorrow. We're asking the UNT community to come to Bruce Hall between 10am and 3 pm to tell us why you love UNT. I'm sure most of you won't be able to physically attend, but you can still support the event and be entered to win a shirt by using #iheartunt on Twitter and Instagram! You can also purchase the shirt online from Barefoot if you just want support us that way. Hope to see lots of tweets and grams from you guys!

  3. I called after you did and got 4 extrasin 104...

My seats are in 103 and they're sold out, so I had to settle for 104.

Whaaaaat? They lied! I wonder if they gave me the wrong section. Though they couldn't find me as a season ticket holder to begin with so I'm not super confident.

  4. So my season tickets are in section 104 and I had a friend who wanted to join my group for Saturday. I had already given my extra tickets to friends, so I called to just purchase one in our section. I literally bought the LAST TICKET in section 104!!! Can't wait to see the turn out if this is any indication of the attendance!

  5. I think there's definitely a rivalry. My hatred for Rice began back in 2006(7?) when we played them down in Houston and during half time when their band performed they said something to the effect of "Remember kids, always tip your waiter in DFW as they're most likely a UNT music grad." ....................................................................................

  6. May I ask why it is so often that noone seems able to inform about these things, because a) the staff is not at liberty to do so and b ) noone who might have that liberty seems willing?

It just generally sounds like there are too many secrets around the AD, and i don't think that is good for fan relations. Fans seem to get wary of the surprises, because the bad things are communicated as little as the good things. When something is not talked about, most fans are thus assuming something bad might be in the offing or behind the decisions made.

I'm not at liberty to answer these questions.

  7. Just as an FYI... Mark is completely correct. Athletics would have loved to have Boo Bash the night of the game, but those who put on the annual event had concerns about several things related to game day activities. Thus, the organizers (not athletics) chose to have it the 30th like they always have. There are so many times I read things on this board that are completely wrong and presumed simply because you just don't know what's happening internally. I wish I was able to shed light each time, but most of the time I'm not at liberty to divulge such things. Know that most of us on staff have great intentions and reasons behind every decision that is made, even if it seems like we didn't consider everything you all bring up. Believe me, they do, but sometimes things just have to happen a certain way and there's no way around it.

  8. The Student Alumni Association will be hosting a silent auction during the Basketball Madness event on October 10. We have been given old Union signage and I know some of the pieces would look perfect in some of your offices/man caves/places of business. Below is more information and a couple of links. Hope to see you all out there and let me know if you have any questions!

The University of North Texas University Union will soon be undergoing major renovations which means all new interior signs. SAA has been given the opportunity to raise scholarship money by auctioning off the old signage. On October 10 during the Basketball Madness event in the Coliseum, you will have the opportunity to bid on the items. It will be silent auction style with each item having a sheet to write your bid down on.

When: Thursday, October 10 from 6:30p-9p
Where: UNT Coliseum concourse between gates A and B

Payment is due at the conclusion of the event. The auction will close at 8:30pm. Winners may pay with cash, credit or check and all items must be taken home that evening.

  10. I love the #hit30k idea. If this is something that can get backing prize wise, I'll do whatever I can to get the major student groups on board. For sure Student Alumni Association (the group I advise) would promote it!
