Couple of things people are misrepresenting regarding the Pac4
1. The current CFP auto status is only for 2 more years and it should already be a foregone conclusion that the CFP is moving to a Power 4 instead of keeping the designation for whatever frakenstein setup they end up with
2. There is no real TV market or escalators that the Pac4 can use to secure a landing spot that will get there future landing spot to be remotely close to their current payout for the next 8 to 10 years. So even if you are looking at 250M plus the NCAA credits, that would have to roll into their next decade to augment their new conference payout to just break even with what they are at. Going from 20M to 5-7M is a disaster for their budgets. So they are flush with cash but cant use it for anything but keeping themselves (nd for many their massive debt payments) afloat.

He’ll, I’ll buy the two season tickets and donate them to Emmitt so he can give them to the men in his police department or whomever he would like. Emmitt, is that doable? If so, who else is with me?
Let me know the link. Hell, I would be in for 4 at this point. Its not like I am going to be able to make any games from Ohio anyways,

So you would have have liked the current OC at a Pac12 school to become our OC better instead of our HC. Yeah, I would to, but…

Just now, Jason Howeth said:
Here's hoping he proves something to us in his press conference. This came so far out of left field that we want to think it makes no sense, but if I'm honest, I think I have too much faith in Smatresk and Mosley to not hire the right guy here.
That is, unless Fuente and Riley turned us down...I think Riley turning down A&M for 3yrs at 2M per took him off the board early this week.
So the real question is what made them pivot from Fuentes to Morris?

The question with Morris isn’t the man or the scheme but does he have the contacts to build staff and the willingness to bring in a few grizzled vets to help him grow into being a HC

I’m a bit concerned because the last longterm pedigree that they kept signaling they wanted, but I love the idea

Perry was a “favor” interview, just like Marion at Texas was at Tulsa…
Everything I have heard has been centered on one guy on the list, and so at this point I am sticking with my prediction of Fuentes.

RIP Pirate
People may never truly understand the impact you had on the game, but more importantly how many lives you impacted.

If SMU can't afford baseball how can UNT? Just asking.
Can SMU not afford baseball or cam SMU not afford the other sports needed to offset baseball for title IX?
Baseball is a relatively cheap sport from a number of scholarships and facility requirements. The question is more travel cost for so many student athletes for so many games. I am curious with the expanded AAC if travel cost are offset a bit.

why do people hate deon so much, im missing something
Prime Prep from both an administration and academic integrity standpoint. That is why out of all the FBS jobs he was rumored for, the best was Col.
I think he will do very well if he has people that will heavily oversee the academic/compliance side of the house for him and allows his former HCs on staff to help him with all the day to day needs of running a big time program. He can recruit and has an old school vision that could make Col into something quickly. As long as he can keep his house in order and keep the NCAA away, I hope to see a resurgence for the Buffs.- 1

If he was told he had to win 8 games, then no surprise to him at all.
He could have maybe had a wait and see if they didn’t get blow out in the title game.
Technically we can still win 8, but going 0-2 in title games on top of 0fer in bowl games pretty much sealed the deal.

Expect to hear some rumored names that will both be a bit of a surprise in price tag and prestige. Part of it will be legit interest and part will be guys looking to get a raise.
As an example, Tulsa couldnt come to terms with Odom because of $$...

When you say “free transfer” do you mean not counting towards a class cap? Because that was never the case unless it changed recently. They have always counted towards a signing class total.
But I agree on what you’re saying logically. I just remember the last I read is that a player who already used his sit-out free transfer cannot use another as a grad transfer, or at least that was expected to be the case. But that doesn’t disprove what you’re saying about timing and being precluded from being subject to the cut-off dates. Guess we’ll find out for sure in the coming weeks.
Free transfer as in not deadline locked. It is dictated only by when you actually file your graduation paperwork, not by a specific deadline on paper as long as you are there before the drop-dead date to actually enroll for Fall classes.

I’m not completely sure, but I don’t think grad transfer is really a relevant delineation anymore. It seems you only get one one-time Transfer sit out free, regardless of grad transfer or not. And the portal deadline still applies the same for graduates and non graduates.
Grad transfer designation is still important because 1, its still on the books as a free transfer, and 2, has to be there due to the fact that student-athletes can graduate during the summer.
You cannot force a student to not graduate during the summer (and generally force them to now retake an additional 40 hours at his new school to be eligible to graduate there) just to meet a transfer window deadline in May or June when he is better off receiving his degree and then looking at graduate options.
Poor timing for UNT, but it errs on the side of the student athlete.

Might be that those smug assholes tried to keep us out of CUSA and now not only are we beating them, we are doing it as we plan on leaving them behind…

Report: TE Coach Chris Gilbert headed back to UT

Left UNT to be the Special Asst to the HC at Texas.
Less responsibilities, a more recruiting-centric management role and most likely a significant raise. Same title they have Gary Patterson
