  1. We used to sit in 204 Row 25 near the camera well, but I joined the Mean Green Club and we moved across the aisle to 205 directly under the well...

It means no one sits behind us so we can stand whenever and we can lean our backs against the well at other times...

And we're out of the rain and sun...

That part of 204-205 is pretty empty usually, but we can get loud when it counts...!!

  2. Thanks to everyone for the response on this one...!!

I have the info I need to try and get something set up maybe for the next game against MTSU...

This weekend didn't work out, but we did get to the game...

What a fantastic game...!! And a great halftime show...

My son was thrilled that the band played YYZ by Rush (his favorite band)...

And we spend countless time at half discussing the merits of the kit of the drummer on the sideline and whether we could actually hear anything but his cymbals...

This figures to be my life from now on...

    Again, thanks to everyone...

I knew this would be the best place to get the right info...

  3. So, my son and I have been season ticket holders for the last 5 seasons and we never miss a game (big time father/son bonding)...

In the last couple of years my son has become a very accomplished middle school and School of Rock drummer...

He thinks of the UNT drum corps as total rock stars and would like nothing more than to meet some of them and ask questions, etc...

Anybody have an idea what would be the best way to do that during a game day...??

We live in McKinney and we really only go to Denton on Saturdays so I'd like to get him a chance to at least talk to the drum corps briefly either tomorrow or some other game this season...

If anyone can steer me in the right direction either to where they'll be set up before the game where they can interact with fans or someone I can get in contact with to maybe arrange something that would be great...

At any rate we'll be in our regular seats yelling our lungs out tomorrow...

    Go Mean Green...!!

  4. Amen brother...unless, of course, it's the Mean Green...just sayin.....

    Okay, I feel ya...

But if that is the case then we HAVE to win...

I am all for flashing that 7-6 record all over creation...

A 6-7 record is cause to put a generic bag over your head...

And also might prompt you to wear a Mickey Mouse sweathshirt so that no one will even guess your allegiance...

  5. I watched the entire second half of this game and while at the end it was obvious that Texas was the far superior team they had just dug themselves too big a hole and couldn't crawl out...

But, that being said, the best player on the court by a longshot was De'Andre Haskins of Chaminade... He was a complete beast and damn near held the Horns off by himself at the end when it looked like Chaminade was going to choke the game away...

Texas had no one even in his league...

Chaminade is now something like 8-75 in the Maui Invitational...

But they are DII and they have wins over Texas, Oklahoma, Stanford, Villanova, Princeton, Virginia, etc...

    Good for them...

  6. Not that this is a big shock but if it's true then Miner fans can finally have some new hope for improvement. Our team has not been horrible but no where near enough winning. I don't know how reliable this site is but they claim that this is something they are hearing. All we've heard prior to this was that nothing would be decided until the end of the season.

Price is definitely gone at the end of the year... They'll make a big retirement announcement to give him a more dignified exit, but they are simply not going renew his contract or negotiate a new one...

His contract is up at the end of the season and one of the reasons he hasn't been let go before now is that the University couldn't afford a buyout...

Price did really good things at UTEP but he is burned out now... He hasn't been getting through to players for a few years now and his teams are unfocused and undisciplined...

Hopefully Bob Stull will make a concerted effort to bring in the right man to get the program going in the right direction...

UTEP is a tough place to win consistently in football, but they have incredible fans in El Paso IF the team is winning... They will consistently draw over 40,000 for a winner...

Once the team starts losing for a few years in a row apathy sets in they are lucky to draw 25,000...

There has been a ton of speculation to be sure...

  7. Normally on Game Day is just park somewhere on campus and walk to the Stadium...

Does anyone know what the on campus parking policy will be for Tuesday night...??

Since the game is at night I am hoping that I will still be able to just park in one of my regular spots with no trouble...

I don't want to get a ticket, or worse, have my car towed...

  8. At some point moral victories are exhausting...

To quote Monty Python: "Sir Robin the - not - quite - so - brave - as - Sir Lancelot, who had nearly fought the Dragon of Angnor, who had nearly stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol, and who had personally wet himself at the Battle of Badon Hill!"

I'd rather be the team that beat Rice, beat UTSA, beat Texas St. than the one who stood up well to LSU and gave K-State all they could handle...

I get the money angle, but some OOC wins once in a while would be nice...

  9. UTSA has not beaten anyone noteworthy, and still must play Rice,SJSU,Utah ST., and La.Tech, all projected losses. However if they finish off McNeese St, Idaho, and Texas State they will finish 8&4. Bowl bound?

    No more UTSA bowl talk...

They aren't eligible for a bowl until 2014 when their FBS provisional status expires...

  10. Did anyone catch earlier in the game the black and white videos of Stan "The Man" Humphries that they showed? Those were during a game against us at Fouts, probably '86.

Northeast Louisiana had two back to back stud quarterbacks...

Right before Humphries was the QB they had Bubby Brister who went on to play for the Steelers and was John Elway's backup in Denver on the 1990's Super Bowl teams...

Brister has the worst name in the history of football, but he could play...
