My thoughts are there are many people who have done great things in athletics for North Texas and to put someone's name on the stadium would in deed be an honor for that person or group of people.
Take a look at some of the high profile programs and what they named their fields:
Alabama -- Legion Field
LSU -- Death Valley
So how about----- Mean Green Express!!
Why the name take a look over the years we have had great running backs, and what about the defenses we have had several standouts who have stuffed the runners and picked off passes and returned them and put the offense in a good position to score.
Alabama plays at Bryant Denny Stadium, Legion Field is in Birmingham.

They somehow got two of USC's players for last year on our roster. Vidal Hazelton was the #1 H.S. WR in 2006, signed with USC and then transferred to Cincy.... Anthony McCoy is in the NFL.

There were several of our 2010 signees in attendance (Bellazin, Hawkins, Olen, and few others). Bellazin definitely looks like a D1 DE.

I was reading on NFL.COM that UNT is having a pro day on March 24th. I wonder if Tobe is going to work out for scouts?
Maybe Cam and Gilmore too.....

But, it should free up a scholarship for a kid who can contribute to the success of the Mean Green in 2010.
I was told that Jenkins left in December, not sure if it effected the number of kids that we signed in February (or mid term transfers) but hopefully the scholarship goes to good use.

I expect to see Lance on either the 1st or 2nd All-Conference team and Jamaal Jackson on the 2nd or 3rd team. I think that Jackson is leading the conference in receptions.

How many Student Athletes are there? I think there are probably enough of them, that if they all voted (or the vast majority) then the thing passes with or without the Greek vote.
"Help support over 300 student athletes" is what they always say in the MGC ads.
