  1. Great coach, recruiter, motivator. Recruits Texas for U Tenn. http://utsports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/m..._trooper00.html
  2. It's not always best to bring up a smaller school head coach. Lets use the currnet BCS. All of these refer to their last jobs before the HC gig. 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan - Former Coordinator as HC 3. USC 4. Florida 5. Notre Dame - Former Coordinator (NFL) as HC 6. Arkansas - Former Coordinator as HC 7. West Virginia - Former Coordinator as HC 8. Wisconsin - Former Coordinator as HC 9. Louisville - Former Coordinator as HC 10. LSU 11. Boise State - Former Coordinator as HC 12. Auburn 13. Texas 14. Rutgers - Former Coordinator as HC 15. Oklahoma - Former Coordinator as HC 16. Georgia Tech 17. Virginia Tech - Former Coordinator as HC 18. Boston College 19. California - Former Coordinator as HC 20. Tennessee - Former Coordinator as HC 21. Wake Forest 22. Nebraska 23. Brigham Young - Former Coordinator as HC 24. Clemson 25. Penn State - Former Coordinator (or equivalent at the time) as HC
  3. I think he makes around 200k a year at Texas, give or take. Surely we can match or beat that.
  4. Long time lurker, first time poster. I like this coach for consideration. * Former starting QB. Pac 10. * Former Offensive Coordinator. Pac 10. * Current Co-Defensive Coordinator. Big 12 * Current Special Teams Coach. Big 12. * Part of many 10 and more win seasons and a natioanl championship ring. * Supposed to be a strong recruiter. Persuasive speaker. Motivational speaker. * Knows the state of Texas, recruiting contacts, media contacts. * Wants to be a Head Coach. * Early 50's in age. Not too old, not too young. * Popular with his players, but not because he is "nice" but due to his fiery intensity. * Has coached many top athletes all the way to the NFL (including some who barely got recruited). "Coaches kids up" as the saying goes. http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com/pag.../akina_bio.html
