  1. Good things continue to happen for UNT and the Mean Green. The record enrollment also means increased revenue from the athletic fee. perhaps the stadium will be marked "PAID IN FULL" even faster than anyone expected. Thank you students, parents, Season ticket buyers, Mean Green Club members, donors to the stadium fund and Charn! All are helping to "make it happen" for the Mean Green and UNT.

Its an amazing thing and should continue to shew up athletic support. I hope more people join us this winter for some basketball games too! This could mean quite quickly an added need for increased capacity at the new stadium. I am concerned however about increased crowding on campus and less class selection. I don't think much more than 36,000 can really be accommodated at this point.

  2. We really sent 1500 tickets back? I couldnt find how to buy any through UNT so I bought mine through UT. Anyone any where near section 9?

On topic, UNT has a great campus and I dont see it as a commuter school at all. Denton isnt exactly that close to Fort Worth or Dallas, with gas prices the way they are its better off getting student housing. I dont know anything about the early 90's all i know is 1998 onward and all I can say is that I've been to a lot of Universities and none of them have the same on campus feel and as nice a looking campus as UNT. Anyways, im sure im a better kicker than he ever was tongue.gif im sort of kidding but i can kick a 50 yd. field goal on a good day.

Lets burn the wheels off of their bandwagon!

    Go Mean Green!

  3. TCU finished 11th last year and is ranked 23rd. I dont see any reason to rank them lower than 20th. 13-16 would be about right.

I cant believe that every poll has OU high. OU shouldnt be ranked top 10 even before the Bomar Situation.

Ohio State seems to be the favorite, but with their schedule i somehow see them losing about 2-3 games. I think the NC is really up for a taking this year. Might even be a suprise or two

    Heres what I got-

    1. Ohio State

    2. Notre Dame

    3. Texas

    4. West Virgina

    5. USU

    6. LSU

    7. Michigan

    8.Cal

    9. Florida State

    10. Penn State

    14. TCU

    17.Alabama

  4. Wow i thought it was just us at the Tulsa game. They threatened to arrest us if we threw the tortillas ( we did anyways). But we brought seat cussions in without hassel so i dont see anything wrong about that. The tortillas are just a cool thing to do to get the fans involved. They need to quit being Nazis about foolish things that dont harm anyone. Anyways i seriously doubt there going to stop the tortillas, over half of the home side was doing at the Tulsa game. We needed some spirt after that loss.

  5. I had a blast, pre game and post game and during the game. Great atmosphere, I will be back. Im not sure about the tuesday night game though. Gotta come from Fort Worth.

I dont expect a good attendence against troy. I went to the TCU/ Utah Game on a thursday night and the best they could get was 25,000. But If we play it right with the area maybe we could get 20,000.

  6. Hmm the good....

Well the green brigade was good I must agree, great atmosphere

    The bad

We quit at half time no question ( if we ever really got going). I was expecting us to come blazing at halftime didnt happen.

    The Ugly

The O line- Holy crap you cant do anything offensivly when the you have no protection, but even when the QBs had time they still made dumb decesions.

anyways... I think we'll bounce back. Its just like TCU against SMU.

We did not recruit a punter, we relied on a quarteback that did not go to class, our d-line that could have helped us flunked out, and we were exposed tonigh

Im a decent punter, I might try to walk on in 2 years.

  7. Yeah well everyone I was with used 1-2 on the safety and we were expecting to get to throw them some more. So towards the end we just threw them for the heck of it and the event staff chick got P.O.ED and asked for them. I Wish I couldve aimed the tortillas at the refs, needed to take my aggresion out on something.

  8. Well i believe it is a small possibility. I heard from other places ( star telegram ect.) that UNT is on the short lists of schools the Moutain West is considering expanding to. Think about it, they get two decent Mid major texas schools allowing there presense in a bigger market. The likely hood is probably small for the Mountain West, but CUSA would be an improvment.

  9. This is the downside of the sunbelt. We could go into baton rouge and slaughter LSU, head to manhattan beat K State and then win the rest and guess what? Still no respect because were a sunbelt team. Seriously though, who does La Tech think they are? Virginia Tech? The WAC isnt very good either except for Boise and maybe Fresno.

  10. We are still in the sunbelt because of our other athletic programs, right? Im just wondering, thats the best excuse I could come up with when I was asked. I honestly believe UNT could compete in the WAC, CUSA, and maybe after a couple years in the Mountain West. But then again there was the Big West 5 years ago...

  11. wow what a game i just had against Wyoming on All American level. I had 104 years rushing with jamario in the first half, but in the second half I was limited to 50 and they managed to squeak out a couple a big passes to tie it up. With 1:37 left in the game I was down 31-24 and tied it back up. I managed to sack the QB with Early, force a fumble and get the last second game winning field goal. 34-31 final score. I figured i could roll right past wyoming. Guess not. sad.gif When i start my dynasty september 3rd LSU is going to give me a thrashing.

  12. " If a small college........located in a small town........... in a part of the USA that has hardly ever been known to be a garden spot of thriving American economy; anyway, if Troy U of Troy, Alabama (pop. 10,000?) can do what they did with their very nice, modern college football stadium, in my heart of hearts I just have to feel even little ol' NORTH TEXAS can just struggle right along with our "we po' but proud" attitude and (miracle of miracles) still build a new football stadium at Eagle Point. NT can even use, uh, "TROY U" as a model to build that a new football stadium. Any of you think it strange that NT would use Troy U (a fine school BTW) as a model?"

I totally agree with you on this. If troy can build movie gallery stadium, we can build a 45,000 or more seat natural grass stadium. Im not exactly sure where we would put it, but i think if they tried to get the money they could. Hopefully in the next 5 years somethings happens.
