New Orleans was a blast...good times should be had by all.

We need to go 4-2 to be at 7-5 to get a bowl game...that would be a great way for the seniors to go out..... this group that had to put up with Fouts and Dodge.

4 UNT alumni making the trip to the Big Easy, we booked in June...
*3 nights at the Holiday Inn new orleans chateau lemoyne (block of bourbon st)
*flying out on AA Thursday 8pm - coming back Sunday 6pm

Pathetic......My daughters middle school drew more fans Thursday night for an 8th grade football game than UNT...30K + students and we get that ...........this
humiliating on national tv...the view from tv made us look like a 2A high school game Jerry's world...
F the students... go binge drink.. put on your penny loafers and suck it!

Bring it on. Does the 3A high school champ feel unsatisfied because they are not in 5A? Hell no I say.....screw the big schools.....I'll take UNT vs UTSA rivalry and a chance to win a future championship playoff system with my left out brothers

Our ship sailed in the 70's when the Southwest Conference didn't take us.
At this point it is like the famous quote from the late great Clayton Williams "we need to just sit back and enjoy it"
As long as we have geographic rivals (UTSA, Rice, La Tech and hopefully Texas St), I can and will accept CUSA for what it is....(Belt 2.0)
However, if the established Rice, UTEP, Southern Miss and La Tech leave......we should move the team to Los Angeles and get an expansion team and start over!

Not good news this close to signing day. One wonders why it came this close...hopefully, Coach Gaines got a job he thinks is bigger, better, etc. Just wish the announcement could have been held until after signing day.
On the flip side i would be pissed if my son/daughter got recruited by a coach who was leaving ASAP and nobody told me! Something smells rotten.

Does anybody know when CUSA will release its 2013 football schedule. I know first they need to finalize who in the heck will be in CUSA...but i want to plan my road trips NOW!

I like the idea! Lets take New Mexico St , Arkansas St and Texas St and form the Great Southwest 9

No, however merge the MWC with CUSA I might listen....let the Belt and Big East merge.

Either way I don't think it will happen, LATech will block them. I hope we go after a MAC team, NIU or Miami would be good.
The MAC has the right idea ...they keep it local to Midwest (ohio,michigan,Illinois, indiana). It would make no sense for any MAC team to leave for the CUSA in my opinion. Would love it, but no way they would leave. They know what they are and are happy with it.

The rest, CUSA, MAC, and SBC, plus the two WAC leftovers and some of the better FCS schools will create a new division of 60+ schools that will probably compete against themsleves in a playoff setup like the current FCS system.
IMO that would be the best thing that could happen after the whole Mega-Conference alignment is over. We are not invited and we will never be. So screw them and lets create a system that works for mid majors.

I'd like to see Texas State invited
Since we will never get the invite to the Big Boy Conferences, I want to be in a conference that can give us local rivals. "IF" we can keep the west division of CUSA together I say we add Texas State.

I think we should take this "Group of Five" idea and think outside the box.....i think with Maryland/Rutgers movingto the B1G the MEGA Conferences are coming sooner than we think
1. Create a Group of Five National Championship Playoff system (Five Conf champs + 3 highest ranked Wildcards) Use the playoffs with Bowls like Liberty, New Orleans, Independence etc......
2. Create our own top 20 poll .,,,still be part of D1 / FBS but have our own classification similar to a High School 5A and 4A system....
3. As stated above byUNT Campbell, continue to schedule one body bag/$$$ game a year, but keep them limited and make the future mega conf pay for wanting/having to schedule us.
4. The big boys dont want us... so why dont we tell them like the bad news bears told the yankees ... take your trophy and shove it straight up your A$$...
but as stated above...makes too much sense
