  1. If we had our 2017 offense with the defense from the winning New Orleans Bowl team...

    DE - Darrell Daniels

    DT - Brandon Kennedy

    DT - Evan Cardwell

    DE - Adrian Awasom

    OLB - Chris Hurd

    MLB - Cody Spencer

    OLB - Taylor Casey

    CB - Don McGee

    SS - Craig Jones

    FS - Jonas Buckles

    CB - Walter Priestly

Now I may be a little off on a few names, as I did this all from memory...BUT...my point is that DAMN we could have done something crazy special that could have changed the landscape forever!!!

  2. There are so many new people on this board since I started, and that’s awesome!!!

But my point is that the New and old fans should be getting together for what may become a 10-2 special season!

Back in the day I would have been there with you whipper snappers, but I had to be w/ my daughter’s volleyball team today.

Understand what this season is, and soak it in! Support when u can, and jump on board. You nvr know what happens next year...carpe diem!

I took the early 2000 bowl yrs for granted...thinking that was the beginning...then dodge came...

Soak up what could be a 10-2 season for what it is! Live and die for this team, for it is what memories are made!

  3. I doubt it. Let's hope people on here wait for all the information before jumping to the usual conclusions.

This isn't a national issue. What you say on here could affect both the family of the deceased and the family of the police officer.

Shut it until the investigation is complete and some facts are released.

    We should probably fire RV...

*this message is in no way in support of RV...sometimes people get confused (UNT90)

  4. Arm chair coaches/ADs never cease to amaze me...

Yeah, that Sun Belt ring is really going to impress recruits.  I am sure this was negotiated, so no issue.

However, this may be too complicated for you to understand; but every day in recruiting has to be very important for NT.  Dead period or not; they have to determine what NT needs and who to go after.

Lol. That national championship ring Dan McCarney sported didn't do a GD thing in recruiting.

    So stupid.

This has RV written all over it. We don't have squat for recruits, and now a 2nd year college assistant and a 1st year OC has to coach the freaking Sun Bowl? As a WR coach?

There is a lot to do at his new job.

This so seems like a Todd Dodge faux pas.

Lol. Leach is running the offense.

    So dumb.

People saying, "but I hope Littrell is communicating w/ him constantly"

Are you guys kidding me? Of course these coaches are communicating, and understand that everything that can be done during the dead period can be done through technology. It is ridiculous to think letting Harrell coach his bowl game is a stumble, or mistake by Littrell because things won't be able to get done satisfactory.

All the evaluations, recruiting plans, JUCO conversations, etc., can, and will be taken care of, regardless of where Harrell is via technology.

Plus, the whole "eye in the sky" reference came from Leach, when he was describing Harrell's role in the staff. That's a plus as to how valuable Leach believes him to be.

Lets not start making something out of nothing.

...and btw...I think RV should be fired b/c Apogee looks wet when it rains, and looks too dry when the sun comes out.

  5. I am sooooooo glad I made sure to go the HOD bowl game. As all these other schools are jockeying for position, and I remember us doing the same thing, waiting to see what bowl we would get. Then playing in the Cotton Bowl and seeing our side PACKED! So many fond memories of that season, and that game!

CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO THAT LEVEL!!!

  6. Chris Thomsen and I share a common friend who told me today that he has been contacted by NT to gauge his interest, but no interview has been set up at this time. He made sure to let the university know he is interested.

The more I think about him as a possibility, he kind of reminds me of Art Briles in the route he is taking.

Please don't misunderstand my comparison, in that I think he is an Art Briles starter kit, but both have HS experience, went to college to cut their teeth as position coaches, then became college head coaches. Art has demonstrated more success over a longer career, but Thomsen has Texas ties (in the NT area), has recruited the area as a HC, and I would think has the respect of Texas HS coaches.

What might be more important, to me anyway, might be fact that he could also provide longer range stability to the program than some of the younger, more glamorous, options that are out there.
