Let's Talk About the New Orleans Bowl
This forum seems pretty divided on the topic. But the folks complaining about this possible bowl match up don't seem to get this isn't the same New Orleans bowl we last attended 13 years ago.
First of all the game is on a Saturday, not a Tuesday like the original NO bowls.
Second, the Super Dome has had major renovations.
Third, this going to the same bowl 4 years in a row.
Fourth, the Sun Belt is a better conference this season than it used to be. Troy beat LSU.

From a perception standpoint (which is absolutely critical to the growth of a program) a loss to a sunbelt team takes us back a few steps. We cannot have it.
I'm not taking a shot at Troy. They're a good football team. Hell, we could be underdogs in he game. But when Joe fan in DFW opens ESPN up on 12/17 and sees that UNT got beat by a team in the Sunbelt they'll wonder why we're not in the Sunbelt and then they'll say "P
