Brett and the guys from the NT Daily have gone out of their way to mention that Brice was only arrested for marijuana "possession" and not involved with the more serious alleged crimes.

Writing about it in an article, but still posting his mugshot next to the other guys defeats the purpose. He continues to be the face of this investigation, because he was the first person to turn himself in. Even though he's not part of the investigation. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words. They should limit his picture being associated with this and only address his involvement in the article. My opinion. If not, they will continue to do damage to him, beyond whats necessary.

And, I'm not sure what you mean by saying they've gone out of their way. They are doing what reporters do. I don't think they are doing him a favor by stating the facts. That's the job.

  2. I know I will probably get burned for this, but I can't help but to wonder why the young lady/ladies in this case are "victims".  There are plenty of sexual assault victims and forced sexual situations that happen too often.  However, in this case, it appears, that she was "asked" to do something illegal for money. I haven't heard anything about strong-arm tactics or intimidation to force her into anything. She could say hell no and get out of my face with that craziness or she could look at the money and say hmmmm, maybe.  Either way, people have asked me to do many things in my long life. I said no to the things I didn't want to do and yes the ones I wanted.

Although, what the 2 guys did was illegal and will be dealt with in the courts. It appears the young lady was an accomplice to the criminal activity and either had a change of heart, felt like she was being taken advantage of (financially) or when the Resident Assistant found out, she made the call to end this.

I can see how being asked by "celebrities" can add additional pressure and it's hard to say no sometimes. But I just can't see my daughter (if I had one) agreeing to smoke crack, rob a bank, kill someone, or... have sex for money, just because someone asked her to.

Please don't beat me up too bad, just my thoughts. I'm open to debate, if not disrespectful.

Possessing marihuana and selling it are two COMPLETELY different things.  And you clearly don't understand "organized criminal activity.  This goes beyond trading a joint for a blow job.

I do know they are very different, but in close proximity. And, the trading a joint for a blow job is a simplistic view, but for that I was pointing more to the promoting prostitution accusation. The organized criminal activity, would be the purchase of weed for profit.  And let's not act like charging statements don't exaggerate possible crimes.

  4. All I have heard about is an "Investigation" and Brice being arrested with what amounts to a ticket in most states now days. But some how, he has become the face of what's alleged, as if its all true. From everything I know about Brice is he's a very nice young man, that's never been in any trouble EVER. Not even been in a fight before. Now, based on accusations alone, he's being looked at like he's Frank Lucas, running a prostitution ring. Obviously, he's made a bad decision, that will affect his life.

It's totally possible, that the alleged "promoting prostitution" could be offering weed for sex, from a single person. It's also possible, that the alleged "organized criminal activity", could be the belief that the purchase of weed, was to profit, in some way, including using it bargain for sex. Outside of actually having weed in his possession, the other accusations could come from a single source. And finally, it's very possible, that the source could be untrue.

Guess what guys- some college students smoke marijuana, and some students sell it to the students that smoke it.  I know this is a surprise to some, but this happens.

Also, news flash, some student athletes get accused of things, sometimes its true, sometimes its false.

Let's let the Investigation complete before we mark everything accused as being true.  I find it odd, that if warrants are issued for other students, that they haven't been arrested. I doubt any of them are hard to find.

I suspect several players will not be renewed.   I would not want to be either White-Pittman or Fuller, they have lost a red shirt year and really haven't had a change to show their merit.   However, they may much better now than they were; hope they get some kind of opportunity to prove themselves.   I suspect the three juniors to be, Holston, Brice and Brown will also be strongly evaluated.    All have significant potential, and have been big contributors: but it all depends on what the new staff thinks they can bring in.

Have not seen Wainwright, but his numbers are not bad on the team is on.   The Ttech pg is the big recruit on that team, so I not sure how much Wainwright has been needed to move the ball down the court.

Even if Frazier wanted to come back and got a medical waiver, I really doubt a new coach wants to waste a ship on an one semester player.

Fuller hasn't changed to show merit? Not sure you know anything about Fuller. He was a FRESHMAN last year and hasn't played a game this year. So you can't really say he hasn't changed. No one knows.

As far as the team, there are really good pieces that a good coach would be able to mold and use.  A good coach can get much more out of at least 8 returning players on this team. I do not think Holston, Brown, or Brice have anything to worry about.  Also, don't be so quick to slap a freshman in the starting line-up against any of the junior guards. Lawson did well this year, but that was after a lot of bad, ill advised shots, that most coaches would have advised against, but Benford allowed.  Lawson had a long leash, not a guarantee Wainwright will.

Can a good coach mold these guys, instead of one on one offense?  The turn-overs by our guards are outrageous- don't know many coaches who would put up with that.

  6. I don't think you start him right from the jump. At least not the first game. But by the 2nd game, he will probably start,  taking the slot that Lawson, Holston and Brown have juggled.

All contingent on how he plays. If he shoots bricks and turns it over a bunch, his time starting will be pushed back.

Remember, guys coming back from time off never start their first game out. Now if he kills it in the first half, he may start the 2nd half .

  7. I had to watch this game on On Demand.  It was fun to watch. Glad to see Combs looking close to the Combs before the injury. He's not playing above the rim like he used to, but he doesn't look in pain and was out there on the break, which is great. He is immediately our best rebounder. I love it.

Holston was explosive. His defense has been very impressive, but if he can show that type of explosiveness, add the bigs outside shooting from either Green or Temara, get Frazier or Deckie making some buckets and sure up the point play... we might be dangerous - lol.

I know, a lot of "ifs"

With the way Reese is playing Woolridge may be the better option at point. Take our three seniors off the bench and give Woolridge, Frazier, Lawson, Conbs, and Brice the go.

Second squad would be Reese, Brown, Johnson, Holston, and Green.

Temara has played well. I'm not sure I would have Holston at the 4 spot much.

Also, we assume Woolridge will be perfect at the point ,  but he still has little experience playing at this level .  I think our want for better point guard play puts higher hopes on Woolridge then normal.

I think Johnson,  Brown,  Frazier, Holston, and Lawson will share the bulk of the 2 wing spots.  Only one not considered a scorer is Holston, but defensely you have to have him in the game cause he puts the pressure on the opponent's best scorers. Brown can too, but doesn't have the height to have the impact Holston does.

We don't know if Frazier or Woolridge will play that type of defense. Johnson tends to pickup fouls when he puts pressure on. I don't think we are just going to out score other teams without having a true impact on the defensive end.

Deckie and Frazier are both seniors, so there is some pressure to  get them minutes. I see Brown getting the short end of the stick this year if Deckie gets his shot going and Frazier meets expectations. He's too good of a player,  so they will squeeze him in where they can.

I watched this game on American Sports Network. Benford line-ups were a head scratcher at times. For some reason, he cut Johnson, Brown, and Brice minutes, and increased minutes of Pittman and others. Johnson and Brown are two of our best scorers. If we aren't going to make free throws, wee need to at least keep our best shooters in the game. The ASN announcers commented "I've never seen anything like this" when were something like 0-8 at the free-throw line, and they commented that we shoot 3's better than free throws. They also said they asked Benford about the free throw problems, and Benford told them that "We don't understand it. We've tried everything to fix it" or something similar to that. This is a game we would have won if we only made our free-throws.

Just wanted to note that Johnson and Brown's minutes were not cut, they were limited because both picked up their 2nd foul in the first half and remained foul trouble most of the game.
