Parking is a money maker for the school. You tear down Fouts and add parking with shuttles and make some $ !!

I can't remember exactly, but isn't the latest master plan to have academic buildings where Fouts is?

I do remember that is the plan for pretty much all of West Prairie Street.

KNTU is not a public radio station.

I was only ever able to get NTTV while I lived on campus. I could never get it from any cable company when I lived in the rest of Denton.

As for if they showed games, I dunno, I was always at the games and never home to see.

KNTU is a public radio station. They get funding from UNT to basically keep the lights on. The rest of the money to operate the station comes from listeners giving money, and a pretty limited amount of underwriting.

At last check, NTTV was on Verizon and Charter -- but only in Denton County. They have started to do a lot more shows centered around UNT sports. When I was there, they could only broadcast the games that weren't already being televised. They aired the Portland State game. I helped on Mac's final Spring Game broadcast on NTTV.

I may be wrong but didn't they recently fire their head coach?

    Yup...Ken Collums out after a 2-9 season in 2016 and 3-8 in 2015.

New HC won three national titles at D2 level, and ACU's new football stadium opens in September.

isn't that what Ricky V used to do at times?

I remember him mentioning this during Orientation at Apogee. At first I thought it was cool, but then you realize no one is going to drive to the Athletic Center to trade in shirts...even if you went to the AC a freshman wouldn't know where the hell to go since no one is ever at that desk out front.

Good to see SGA take it to where the students actually are.

My memory on this is hazy, so I am unsure, but I think kntu.fm used to actually point to the radio station.

You are correct. I forget which island nation it was, but their initials must have been FM -- meaning their websites ended in .fm, like sites in the UK will end with .uk.

And this country figured they could make money by selling their domain names to FM stations. But, it's been at least 5 years since KNTU had their site as .fm

The NT feed looked great. I'm not able to get to a lot of games so I look foward to watching more NT broadcasts like it. Is our RTVF school involved?

Mean Green Productions does offer a lot of opportunities for RTVF kids -- running camera, usually.

But, the ability to stream so many games and the increased quality is due to adding another full-time guy to MGP and also an investment into the product.

    Yowza.

I believe the policy by the time I was a frosh was all freshman had to live on campus unless their parents lived within something like 15 miles of campus. And you had to have enough credit hours to qualify as a sophomore (30 hours) to be allowed to live off campus. I think the credit hours may have been dropped from 60 to 30 when student population got big enough without building any new dorms that they needed to get some people out and off of campus.

Kerr was built in 1969 and College Inn opened in 1970, but then no new dorms were built until Santa Fe opened in 1997. 27 years. Since 1997 they've opened Santa Fe, Mozart, Traditions, Victory, Legends, Honors and Rawlins, doubling the number of residence halls.

When were West, Crumley, Maple and Bruce built?

When I came to UNT in 2012 I don't remember there being anything about needing a certain number of hours to live off-campus. I'm pretty sure the rule is once you're not a freshman then you can live off-campus.

As far as the wait list -- remember to factor in that probably many on that wait list are sophomores or above. I was on the wait list after my freshman year to continue living on-campus.

Is the interview archived online and available for replay?

Typically you can find full shows on theunticket.com

Friday's shows might not get posted until Saturday or possibly later. It looks like they post a week of shows at a time.

So once Friday's full Shake Joint is up, then you'd have to roll through to 4 hours into the show (making it 9:30 AM on Friday) of where Harrell's interview was around.

  8. About those reliefs from Fouts...I hadn't noticed these until the other day. They don't look like ones from Fouts, but pretty similar and all of female athletes.

This picture was taken outside the Union across Highland Street from the BLB (where Stovall Hall used to be located). There are a couple of picnic tables next to the new Shield statue by now deceased UNT alumnus Jesus Moroles.

On a side note, if you can believe Wiki, I was shocked to see that TD is making 450k at Westlake. If true, he's better off coaching in the high school ranks in more ways than one.

That 450K must be what Dodge was making at UNT or Pitt.

This: http://www.statesman.com/news/sports/high-school-football/salary-chart-austin-area-high-school-football-coac/nmTDF/ reports Dodge is making $120K at Westlake -- or he was at least as of a year ago.

Count me as someone who partly enjoys the bodybag games. If you have a decent team, they can get pretty competitive. It's going to be awesome to go to College Station in 2020 with my brother to watch our alma maters play each other, just like it was fun for me to go with my other brother to Austin to watch his school face off against UNT. It's an experience every college student should have

And remember how excited people were after we were tied in the third quarter at Georgia? I know that season has been the outlier, but when you do have a good team the bodybag games are the chance to show people that you're actually good.
