  1. Are we still supposed to think you are an objective fan of LSU or are we abandoning that now?

Well I am a LSU fan. After I started that thread I decided to stick around here.

If your wondering why I said ''It was tough watching Tony's highlights from that game. '', it was because I watched that game last year...

  2. No college player can dominate ANY conference when being consistently double and triple teamed. UNT was terrible at rotating players to the proper posotions on the court when those double and triple teams came at TM, and TM was not good at finding the open man.

    This is a coaching issue.

    I agree with this.

  3. Noticed that Brady went to great lengths to say he doesn't hassle other coaches or players. No mention of refs. So bonus points for honesty. :thumbsu:

I'm not happy with Brady because that's his weak point. He cost us a chance in the Sun Belt tournament the year Trey Finn blew his knee in practice between the end of the regular season and the tournament by getting a technical when UALR assistant Joe Kleine kept coming out of the box and then during a stop in the action was on the court a few feet and got in an ASU player's face yelling. Brady went bonkers and the technical free throws and possession put us down four.

haha I remember the Brady era at LSU. It was like a roller coaster...

Did I mention that Brady is a bitch?

  4. Saw him play in person. When we thoiught he would be playing in the Sun Belt, I said he was an offensive project and if we could get 8 rebounds a night and some decent defense out of him, I would be happy. And I was talking about the Sun Belt.

For LSU, I expect him to see A LOT of pine. Maybe a 5-10 minute a night player at best. Expect no offense.

Now, he only has 4 years of basketball experience under his belt, so there may be room for improvement, but who really wants a JC project?

I am really surprised JJ stayed with this kid when he moved to LSU. Probably felt a committment to the kid. JJ will bring you much better talent than Odo.

Is Odo currently enrolled? If not, with his grade issues, he may never play for you guys. Y'all should consider that a good thing if it happens.

Yes. He practices with the team

  5. I watched the LSU game Saturday. Johnny couldn't win in the Sun Belt with that bunch. So many turnovers. Dribbling off your foot is not a coaching problem. Neither is free throw shooting: it's individual. Laura McCoy (Jr. on UNT women's team) would shoot a thousand free throws after parctice in high school. (NT daily article) She shoots 85-90 percent. She missed 3 of 50 last year; 4 of 32 this year. Free throw shooting is work. (Unless you're Shaq - maybe it's an LSU thing)

Haha LSU has never had good free throw shooting teams. It's like we're cursed or something

  6. I wouldn't be calling for the ouster of JJ because LSU wasn't expected to be that good, but I'd definitely be concerned going 0-4 in league play. Anytime you have a new coach there is gonna be a certain amount of skepticicism if things go really south right off the bat, just by virtue of the fact that you've never actually seen the guy win. Some of that is alleviated if you're taking over a bad situation, but LSU wasn't a terrible team last year. And certainly Benford was walking into what appeared to be a great situation for a new coach.

I think the players are having a tough time learning his system. Last year we had one of the slowest tempos in the nation and when you switch to an uptempo offense its going to take time to learn.
