  1. A few more DT's to look at: (Some previously mentioned)

DT’s from the All-Conference List of the Southwest Junior College Athletics Conference

Stanton Stevenson, Northeastern Oklahoma; 6’0”, 266, 2nd Team All-SJCAC, solid player on a horrible team!

Jonathan Rogers, Trinity Valley; 5’11”, 275, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC , Keller Fossil Ridge

Andre Jones, Navarro; 6’4”, 310, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC

Rodney Watts, Tyler; 6’3”, 285, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC

John Prescott, Cisco; 5’11”, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC

Jarrett Haywood, Cisco; 6’4”, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC

Xavier Bryant, Kilgore; 6’1” 295, Honorable Mention All-SJCAC

    Additional DT (mentioned before)

Jeremy Williams, Blinn; 6’1” 290, 4.9, ACL injury early in season, From Houston area, wouldn’t be surprised to see this kid go to TX-State and turn out to be a good one in a couple years.

  2. In addition to Henderson Texas A&M signed another defensive tackle named Rod Davis out of Houston Eisenhower the same year. He also didn't qualify and went to Fort Scott CC in Kansas. He is out this year and doesn't list any colleges of interest.

Was just researching his stats on the Jayhawk Conference page last night! B)

Looks interesting...hope we shake a visit out of him!

  3. Alright I realize Santa has come and gone for the year but I’d like to know everyone’s current Top 5 recruiting wishlist. So what 5 verbals would make your weekend?

Please keep it to recruits that are either listing us or are realistic possibilities (no 4* recruits that are uncommitted but visiting only upper BCS schools recruits, you get the picture).

    I’ll jump in there first:

    Top 5 (no particular order)

    Princeton Jackson - ILB, 6'2", 230 lbs, 4.6 40, Blinn JUCO

    David Cobb - RB, 5'11", 205, 4.5 40, Ellison HS, Killeen

    Devon Holcutt - DT, 5'11", 258, 4.8 40, Ellison HS, Killeen

    Keithen English – OG, 6’4, 315. 5.0 40, A Maceo Smith HS, Dallas

    GMG!

  4. I can tell you that the staff knows who Trint Jenkins is...or at least they should. They got an updated film on him the first of the week. He has all of the skill needed to compete at this level...no doubt. As far as DL...I know that they have offered Rakeem Knight. He is an unknown to most...but isnt to the recruiters at point. A huge number of FCS schools have offered along with UNT. Oklahoma State is very interested...and Arkansas has 2 coaches flying to Birmingham this morning to see him before the dead period.

    Knight Film: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/RakeemKnightFULLSCREEN.html

  7. I dunno... seems the kid is showing the same class he's shown the past few years and just wants to start over fresh.

    1. Haven't seen any reason to doubt this kid's character over the past three seasons. Have I missed something?

    2. He's walking out of here still praising UNT when he could be throwing crap and stirring up the media. How many other transfers have you heard about that have nothing but hate for thier last team?

    3. If I remember right (note: I could be wrong), he was pounced on right after his father was canned and asked, mid-season, about next year. Could he have responded better? Yep, but if he'd have said "I don't know" The media and the fanbase would NEVER have let that go.

    4. Finally let's face it, next year this kid would've had the most difficult transition of any other player on the team. (Having someone replace your dad is personal, even if it's for ligit reasons).

Basically it's a fresh start for him and fewer distractions for Coach Mac and staff next year. Sounds like a Win-win to me.

Best of luck to you young man!

  8. After reading the forum rules, I’m not sure how to proceed. Please help!

There are several recruits that I would love to see this new staff at least touch base with, question is “how to list them”. I understand the forum rules format (listings/links etc) but…

Is it ok to list them or should I just send an e-mail to the forum moderator?

Do I list each one separately or small batches?

    THANKS!

BTW Hopefully you’ll only have to tell me this once!

  9. Somewhat familiar with Berry's past (I'm a long time OSU alum/fan) and very familiar with the importance of coaching ties. Did not mean to appear to be freaking out, but am concerned with the in-roads made by ULM in areas that I have long wished UNT would establish a small foothold, namely the OKC metro area and SW/SE Oklahoma. Of course, these areas would only be used to supplement the primary recruiting in Texas.

However, what got my attention were the following two recruits (Tulsa area) and then later seeing the number of kids who listed an interest in ULM (albeit as a fallback). Feel like UNT should be that fallback program and that we should be able to hold our own or better when recruiting against our Sunbelt brethren. Yes, realize this is a new staff coming in late and I have no doubt that next year will be very different. Just hoping we begin to make some in-roads this year as well! :)

    Notable ULM OK commits:

    OL/DL/LB- Derrick Alexander, Jr.

Booker T. Washington (5A State Champs)

    6’3/260/???

    1st team All-State (Oklahoman & Tulsa World)

    Tulsa World’s OK POY

    Rivals 2-stars, Scout 2-stars

    OL-Ben Risenhoover – Jenks

    6’ 3”/270/5.3

    1st team All-State (Tulsa World)

    2nd team All-State (Oklahoman)

    Rivals 2-stars, Scout 2-stars

Anyway looking forward to seeing how the next month plays out!

  10. Long time lurker here, first post on the new boards (yep have lurked THAT long!) so please bear with me.

Has anyone in the new staff been assigned Oklahoma for recruiting? Have noticed Louisiana-Monroe has been hitting the state hard this year. There are several of kids in the Tulsa area that may fall to ULM that need to end up in Denton.
