  1. I sent an email to Jeff Catlin, and Big Dan Bennett when we were in the Sun Belt Tourney for B-ball. I said that they should do more on UNT. We are trying to build up our MEAN GREEN nation but it's hard with no local sports talk support. I mentioned all their UNT grads there and the fact that they should have a 1-2 hr Sunday show. Dan Bennett personally emailed me back and got defensive. He questioned if I ever actually listened to the ticket and said they tlak about UNT all the time. I love the Ticket, but I was quite sour after that. Maybe when we win a national championship in f-ball or b-ball we can get a mention.

Yeah they do talk about the Mean Green all the time when they are doing paid ad spots for All Pro foundation repair.

  2. That was when he had a "strong" arm. He's nowhere close to even the turnover prone player he was. Did you see ANY of Saturday's game against Army?

Did you see Chase Baine's arm strength? Riley, even with less arm strength than last year, was this teams 3rd QB over Baine. Riley has experience and that is who I would go with.

  4. My post wasn't meant as a shot at Texas St., it was more to point out to some on here (and maybe you, if you feel this way) that Texas St. is light years behind where UNT is at this point. Maybe the new endzone construction will add 15,000 seats. I don't see that as a positive. Your stadium's capacity now is just over 15K, so you are essentially adding 15K additional end zone seats? We did that with Fouts 18 years ago. Didn't make sense then, and it shouldn't to Texas St. It would be smarter to extend your existing sideline stands from the 10 yard line through the end zone on each side of the field. Seriously, right now your stadium has a hard time comparing to the Mansfield ISD Stadium (which is rather nice, just FYI).

Curious as to how many times you guys sold out the stadium last year. Curious as to where you plan to park 31K fans, as there are NO lots anywhere around your stadium.

I do wish you guys the best, but I'd prefer to keep you where you belong, which is very distant in our rearview mirror.

    EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. We've got two lakes and a train across 35W, so screw TSU-SM.

What's the point in knocking TSU-SM down. Their conceptual drawings are great and I really like their current endzone facility. Just a couple of years ago we were touting our conceptual drawings at anyone that would listen. I think they will have a more difficult time moving their project forward than we have, but I wish them well in their efforts.

Confused..... We're having fun here no?

  6. Thanks for the visit. FYI the North Endzone (Aquarina side) is in the final stages to begin construction. AD says it could bring our stadium to 31K seats by the 2011 season. If I read correctly that will be larger than your new Stadium. Also we have additional plans that would ultimately bring he stadium to 45k seating.

Even if you add those seats it still won't compare to this!

  7. Don't forget there is quite a few definitions of "real" jerseys out there. A few years ago quite a few people bought the "real" jerseys and found out they fit quite a bit different than most people thought.

We brought the jersey thing up to Rick V. during a podcastt a month back.

I'd be willing to bet that next year you wil see something closer to what you are looking for....

I'm just talking about a replica not game jersey the replicas we are offered aren't even accurate, the numbers aren't even in the right place. RV also told us to think big, that we aren't little old North Texas settling for a plain green jersey with inaccuracies is not thinking big. It can't be impossible and it can't be just our spending. Do a search Nike makes accurate replicas for Montana and Nevada are their fan bases more willing to spend money than us? Do they have a larger national following than us? I don't buy it.

  8. I have posted this a couple times before but will again. UA produces the blank football jersey. Another company decorates the jersey ie adds numbers, names and logos (yes, prob also owned by the same). All orders for football jerseys are place by the end of Feb. The company selling the decorated jersey will produce no less than orders totalling about 300 jerseys. The sales rep told me he could only pre-sell a few dozen jerseys to all the NT outlets. That represents about $10,000 in wholesale orders. I asked if I could place an order for the minimum they would produce and in return have an exclusive for the jerseys...I was told no. In reality I would pay a large amount to have the jerseys produced and then the rep would also sell to the bookstores allowing them to buy as few as a dozen. I only sell online and before home football games and until there are enough UNT sales to warrant opening a spirit shop or enough retailers carryng NT stuff thats the way it will stay. The University, CLC, UA any everyone else that usually gets the blame for this has nothing to do with it. It all boils down to George Washington and the fans letting him go.

Hope this clears up some confusion, Todd

Maybe we would spend it if the item was offered. We are offered a sub standard product that isn't accurate to our actual jersey and asked to spend the same amount of money as someone getting an accurate replica at the University of Delaware bookstore. That is what frustrates me. I have pride in this University and when I'm offered something I'm supposed to walk around wearing to show that pride that has been compare to something from Walmart you are right I'm going to hold on to my George Washingtons. The University of Delaware is able to do it there is no reason we can't, after all we are THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS!
