  1. We (the SunBelt) suck.

Troy got their butts handed to them by Mizzou.

    We lost to friggin Akron,

The Cajuns lost to EMU last week.

    You're having trouble with Tulsa.

What the hell can we do?

    I'm quickly losing faith.

Mac is a goner (good riddance)

How in the hell are we going to make this a competitive non-con league?

  2. Yeah, in fact, I seem to recall them grinding it out against 8, 9, and eventually 10 men in the box.

Ahhh. The fumble was Marks fault. He had a horrible game, I just hope he can regroup. Because our best other option at QB is Joe Craddock and alas he's out for the season with an ACL.

You guys have a good, tough, hard-nosed, well coached football team. Good luck the rest of the way.

  3. It's awesome when we've established such a history in the running game, as which an opponent (win or lose) feels holding our RB to < 150 yards a "dominating" defensive performance.

The way I see it, Cobbs still has a 100+ yard game, Thomas nearly hits 6 yards/carry average, and Meager throws 0 picks.  I think most teams would be content with that formula.

PS: congrats on your first sack of the 5 year series with us.

Congrats to continue to suck in every sport but football.

  4. theburro: You just don't get it do you. Let me make this clear. Gross IS NOT BETTER than Cobbs or Thomas. If you think he is, you are far dumber than everyone thinks. Cobbs had 195 all-purpose yards last night. Thomas averaged 5.8 yards per carry. If you asked 200 writers, scouts, college coaches, etc... who was the best of the 3, Gross would get 200 3rd place votes.

MUTS turned the ball over 5 times. That does not mean that you gave us the ballgame, it means that your players played poorly and made bad decisions last night. Andy Mac did not throw those picks or fumble those balls so don't blame him. You running back needs to learn how to take a handoff. Weathers made a great play on the first pick and Holman made an amazing return on the 2nd pick. The 3rd pick was due to pressure from our D-line. All I hear from the MUTS board is how you guys beaat yourselves and NT did not win the game. How bad it feels to lose another game in the rivalry. Don't you have to win at least one game to make it a rivalry?

    GMG!!!

    Beat Tulsa!!!

MeanGreen61 said that talent produces results.

I was just going by that logic.

Gross had more yards than Cobbs and Thomas and almost as many as the two combined.

Either way from a defensive standpoint I'm pleased with last night's results.

    We either

    A) have a bada$$ defense or

cool.gif JT and PC are overrated posers.

I can live with either one.

Anyway, beat Tulsa next week. Good luck the rest of the year.

  5. Why not just accept your defeat gracefully without all the excuses and what ifs. It won't change the outcome.

no excuses. We lost. Andy's going to pay the price for it.

But we physically dominated your O-line and "the two best RB's in the country"

One day maybe AD Massaro can get our football program straightened out.

  6. BRISKET IS KING

    1. By saying beef isn't barbeque you have proven how dumb you are.

    2. You did not manhandle anyone. I don't care how many yards MUTS got last night, YOU LOST THE GAME(again).

    3. We will beat Tulsa.

We DID manhandle you. You can physically beat the hell out of a team and lose. Just look at us.

  7. Where's theboro at? biggrin.gif

    Don't worry. I'm here.

Congratulations on the win. Just once I'd like to see our team do whatever it takes to win.

Once again we couldn't take care of the football.

It doesn't matter how bad you manhandle someone, if you turn it over five times you'll get beat by anyone.

On the bright side we'll have a new coach next year. So try not to embarass the conference next week against Tulsa and we'll try to do the same against Akron.

    One last thing:

Beef isn't barbeque and we're still going to beat you like redheaded step children in every other sport.

  8. 2004....30-21

    2003....33-28

    2002....30-20

    2001....24-21

MUTS has won 47% of their games during this time

UNT  has won 63% of our  games during this time

They have 17 returning lettermen with a loosing record in 4 years.

We have the best 2 running backs in the Nation.  Even Buford Julip, Harry, Plumgreen, SUMG et. al.  could play QB and hand off to Thomas and Cobbs and still win the game. laugh.gif

    They are 1 deep

    We are 2 deep

They have AC.....who recruits well in the Tennessee area  sad.gif

We have DD.......who recruits Very Well in the state of TEXAS!!  biggrin.gif

IF MUTS tears down their goal posts this year it will be because they are fustrated in LOOSING again to UNT!!! laugh.gif  cool.gif

    It's A McC not AC.

Second, look at the number of recruits we've gotten in Florida.

Third, if you honestly belive that PC and JT are the TWO BEST RB's in the country then you are about as smart as North Texas' Baseball Coach.

    It won't be close tomorrow.

Yeah, we all really loved reading in ESPN "The Magazine" those 5 pages and 5 photos of Alabama's vaunted RB's and their running game this week!

WHOOPS!  Wait a minute here!  That was about NORTH TEXAS' running backs and vaunted running game in this weeks edition of that magazine.  My bad..... rolleyes.gif

    ...............................................................................

To you who calls himself (herself)  "theboro",  lets look at all this this way:  Even without Patrick Cobbs playing last year,  Super Jamario Thomas still ran for almost 200 yards against (basically) the same guys that will be manning your defense this Saturday evening.  Have they suddenly become Giant killers in the space of one year?

    To answer your question:

With a finally competent DC.... Yes.

Congratulations on the article in ESPN the Magazine.

Dwone Hicks got front page in USA Today in 02. Does that mean he was the best RB in the country?

    Stats don't lie.

  10. You would be correct...Thomas did get injured at the end of the 1st Quarter I think (maybe early 2nd). And I think he still had 58 yards that quarter...not bad.

Just an FYI...Thomas averaged more yards against BCS schools than Sunbelt.

And someone (who must be crazy) stated that Alabama's running game was on par with UNT??? What???

Also remember that Colorado did win big, but we were able to put up over 500 yards of offence againt them, and they only had about 50 yards more of offence than UNT. MTSU could not even go how many yards vs. Alabama? BTW at the time Colorado was number 4 in the nation in total D.

Alabama's running game is BETTER than UNT's. Prove me wrong.

Last year Bama finished #21 in the country in rushing offense at 200 yards per game.

North Texas finished #22 in the country in rushing offense at 196 yards per game.

They had one common opponent Southern Miss.

Bama had 51 carries for 262 an average of 5.1.

North Texas had 39 carries for 78 yards an average of 2.0.

Bama was playing their third string quarterback.

UNT was playing their first string quarterback.

UNT was more of a threat to pass.

Now tell me that your rushing game is better than Alabama's.

  11. Now you've done it. You really shouldn't have said that. See, those boys from Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and all points North and South chose to come to Texas. Now, when I say chose, that means they decided that Texas was better than what they had in their respective states.

When they moved to Texas, they became TEXANS who fought for their newly adopted country. (In case you didn't know, Texas is the only state in the union who was once a country and can still secede from the Union.) By your logic, we shouldn't call all those Puritans and Pilgrims who came over from England Americans when they fought for their freedom.  blink.gif

Before you go and insult our homeland, just remember that southern pride runs deep, and TEXAN pride runs even deeper.

That's right, Sam Houston, the drunk debtor chose Texas.

Hey, I like Texas. It's a beautiful state. The only problem with Texas is that it's full of Texans. tongue.gif
