  1. ha! I got a giggle out of the comment re: 2-back set being an "interesting look."

I thought it was "interesting" the first time I saw JJ's Run'n Shoot, a flea-flicker or Leach's Spread attack. Where are we in the grand scheme of football when a fundamental two-back set is even remotely interesting to our AD?

Problem is that Dodge and Company do read the board, they even mention it as motivating tools for practice.

We will fair well with a Ball State rookie Qb. If they had the kid from last season (last seasons QB), this game wouldn't even be close....

I expect us to throw dinks and dunks, throw no interceptions (because we will take absolutely NO shots at going deep or throwing deep outs). Dodge is playing this game so Riley keeps his confidence. His confidence is more important for the long haul than taking shots at winning the game by actually throwing the ball deep and taking some legitimate shots across the middle. You will see a huge completion percentage. Lots of bubbles, screens and quick stop routes... If we can't run the ball, it might be trouble.

T.D. truly reads this board and it showing in how he is treating this team, the media, and the alumni. TD longer breaks the huddle using the word "family"

(that has been scratched because it was pure bull crap). This team is way more talented in the best place possible, WR's and OL....with a heavy emphasis on OL. Our OL is going to make our program so much better this season. We finally have some experience and the big boys have really grown. OL will be the MVP's of the season.

  2. He CAN't be any good....... He wasn't coached by Todd Dodge...

TD has coached hs football for many, many seasons and up to now he has had two QB (QB's) become an All-American of some sort by several publications?

    Name that QB (s) ?

Will Riley out play this red shirt being a red shirt himself?

Riley should kill this kid, KNOWING THE DODGE SYSTEM SINCE HE WAS IN DIAPERS, shouldn't he?

Riley will toss out every freshman record at UNT, big pappa will see that through... Dodge boys LOVE RECORDS, especially about themselves.

    WE will BEAT Ball State...

  3. This program is headed south and quickly dying from the cancer of Rick V. and his hire of this coaching staff.

Being so close to the program, I see it every freaking day. Yes, I am young and dumb but if doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that these players want Dodge gone.

Everyone was so high on Russo and now he is a third rate player because he chose another path. People just keep sticking up for Dodge and its ridiculous.

His players give the politically correct statements but they want him gone. Family which is said every time they break the huddle is a joke.

Family to Coach Dodge is Riley boy and his wife who gossips like a teenager.

All these so called QUITTERS are leaving for the right reasons. This place is a disaster and unfortunately my job on campus is right here at Bonnie Brae. I need the cash and can't quit but it is painful to watch.

  4. Yeah a lot of teams do it.

But Todd never did it before. The Phillips family and Meagers' are laughing their ass off at the sudden change in philosophy. Their is only one reason to this NEW "not hit" rule.

Hell last season, in practice Gio would run over people in practice. Tune and Meager would run and get tackled as well. Everybody was fair game in spring scrimmages and the spring game.

I guess the no hit rule was in place when Joseph Miller knocked Gio out on a full sprint out drill last season???

That is how QB's and the entire team get better when going full speed. This team needs full contact. It showed yesterday.

So what is Todd afraid of? its only early April and he is already concerned about his STAR when he had no regard for Tune, Phillips or Meager in the past?

  5. Meager, Tune, Phillips and somewhere Vizza, have to be laughing their ass off that they went full contact not only in practice but each spring game.

The golden boy was hands off the entire spring. He got a little pressure today and it showed and STILL WASN"T hit. Was is he gonna do when he gets the shit kicked out of him from Troy, Bama, Ball State, hell anybody. What is going to happen then?

SLC dominated the OL play. He threw at will in HS. He had the best RB in HS and the best WR's in HS. What is he gonna be?

I know the Mr. Meager was laughing his ass off saying "how times have changed." Daniel got killed in spring ball. Miller hit Gio so hard in a spring practice that he bit his tough in half.

What a joke. Dodge and Dodge are a flat out disgrace. Fake leadership, it has always been about Dodge and his ego from his days at Texas. I did a little research on the frat boy named Todd Dodge. He was no saint boys. He was doing the same crap that kids do today.

He mishandled so many of these players because he wants to make people think he is clean and almighty. The man is FAKE.

  6. thank you daddy vizza. go relive your youth through your son's life. just because you bleed maroon, or is it moron, does not mean your son wants to. good ridence!

Bigntex played HS ball with him. I met him he goes to Tech. You can't blame friends for sticking up for friends. I see it everyday at practice. I know what I see and the true leaders on this team our as follows: Craig, Tobe, and Cam. Thats about it.

I hear what I hear and see what I see. By the way, TGIF because its party time in Big D. D for Denton.

  7. Gio was operating with an extremely young OL who didn't give up as many sacks as previous but he was under pressure just about everythrow.

Gio, last season, was working with Casey but who else? Three walk ons WR's. Casey was in all reality just a possession receiver. No one could strech the field, no one. Brock was a slot? I love Brock but he was a TE, playing slot?

There were no weapons and Dodge and Company are learning the college game. In all fairness, he did the most with what he had available to him.

He got his ass physically beaten every game.

If he was not a legit deal, then why would a Hall of Fame Head Coach (Chris Ault from Nevada) chase a kid all the way from Texas as Fake Lonnie pointed out. Then why did he have better offers than than that of UNT? D-1 offers for a QB don't grow on trees. Maybe 275 or so have a D-1 scholarship and Gio was offered by way better programs than UNT.

But he believed in Dodge and the Dodge formula for success. Dodge gave him no weapons his second season to work with. He instead pulled a bull shit medical on a legitimate slot WR and does not play one highly recruited WR. He instead played with walkons.

  8. I am at every practice so I see what you see so we are all entitled to our own opinions.

I will agree we are so much better and have way more talent and experience than last season.

We are deep at OL and will protect sir Riley so much better this season.

We have legitimate WR's who can run. It remains to be seen how well they do against very aggresive and experienced CB's.

LB core is good. Still lack some speed but they are damn tough.

    Kicker still scares me.

CB's are deep but scare me.

Safties are hitters and will be better.

DL is thin but they will put some pressure on the QB and help our secondary.

WE will win some games this season. Ball State, Army, ULL all come to mind.

  9. Brock is a flat out great guy. He would have made someone a hell of a TE. He was in the wrong position in this offense.

I admired Brock mostly for sticking up for player who was screwed last season by wearing his bandana.

Stick your a great guy and the strongest son of gun I have ever seen pound for pound. If ever you saw in the weight room you would have all been amazed.

  10. We are so deep at RB, in a one back system, it doesn't matter. Cam is going to be the workhorse, and the others are going to be the scat style of back. I feel for Mosely, he is not going to see the field much unless Cam goes down.

  11. I been busy with work and haven't been able to post what I've seen at practices this Spring, but after reading some of the posts I feel obligated to share my opinions. I've been to two practices so far. Here is a run down of what I've seen.

    1. Riley has a big time arm. I watched him at practice last year, and feel his arm is much stronger now. Makes me wonder if he was still recovering from the shoulder surgery when he was practicing last year. Last week he showed the touch to throw the deep ball, the fastball and accuracy to thread the needle between defenders over the middle, and the knowledge to read the defense and take what they are giving up. Aside from a pick I saw him throw, He looked very solid.

SIDE SHOW, you must be kidding. Big time arm?? Wow, then Tune and Baine must have some weak arms to make that statement.

He cannot throw the deep out route against any top level CB. If he had a big time arm, he would not be here. No one recruited this guy has a QB, but as an athlete. Have you seen him go live where they can hit him? (of course not, TD is not allowing full contact for the first time since he has been here).

Riley has good feet but he will not outrun quality LB's with speed nor would he outrun Gilmore. Gilmore wants to put the wood to him but has to back off. The team is behind Nathan. Nathan is just waiting his turn to get more reps with the first team. The problem is that Dodge is letting his son get most, if not all, the reps. Dodge has one more season and his tenure is gone. He wants his "star" son to get his time because after this season, its open game at QB.

I expect a JUCO to be signed at QB by the next head coach at UNT. Big time arm? You must be kidding me.
